raynark Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 So hi there my rig is  Intel i-5 core 8 gigs of ram gtx 650 ti  For some weird reason when I try to run classic or v5 there is major lag I'm sitting at about 30 to 40 for classic and about 20 to 30 for v5. but when I turn bloom off classic and all the other stuff my fps jumps around 45 to 60 and still there major lag even in this jump. I have no hd textures installed so I'm not sure what's going on Â
Kodiak Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 I feel your pain sir. I've been there myself as well when I started using ENB Sharpshooter classic. I have since installed the full Sharpshooter and finally got it where I wanted it.  The following is a snip of advice from a conversation a friend of mine gave me while helping me troubleshoot my ENB for frame rate and lag. Now keep in mind, this worked for my rig, but from what you are running you should be ok. I would suggest however you head over to the main ENB site and make sure you have the latest ENB main file installed before you move forward with tweaking anything. http://enbdev.com/index_en.html  As with anything else in the Bethesda modding world....make back-ups before you mess with shit.  Still, I'm fairly certain this will help. You'll be able to tweak it more as you learn what everything does and start turning things up. For me, reflections was causing the biggest hit on frame rate.    Firstly, go into your enbseries.ini and make sure that the following settings have the numbers I give:  Under [sSAO_SSIL] SizeScale=0.4 SourceTexturesScale=0.7  Under [REFLECTION] SizeScale=0.4 SourceTexturesScale=0.7  If those are higher than that, they are unnecessarily high, and you should turn them down. If they're already lower, that's fine, but you won't be recovering your FPS here.  Next, there are a few effects in particular that have a massive effect on in-game FPS. EnableReflection= assuming this is already set to true, it's one of the heaviest effects. By simply turning it off I regain about 1/4 of my FPS lost. If you can go without the real time reflections, set this to "false" and you should be well on your way to getting some of those FPS back.  There are some other things you can try which will restore minute amounts of fps, but it all adds up.  You can set EnableSubsurfaceScattering=false This will disable subsurface scattering effects. While it will reduce the realism a little, it's not a massive change, and will get you a little fps back.  EnableDepthofField=false If you haven't already turned that one back off, it'll get you some fps back.  under [sSAO_SSIL] SamplingQuality=1 SamplingPrecision=1 FilterQuality=1  If these numbers are already higher (2 or 3), it's already lower quality than I am suggesting, and you won't get any FPS back from changing to this. Same goes for everything else I'm about to suggest.  Under [bLOOM] Quality=1  Under [skylighting] FilterQuality=1  Under [sHADOW] ShadowFilterQuality=1  Â
raynark Posted January 11, 2014 Author Posted January 11, 2014 Thanks for the advice I'll give it a try and see what happens  As for depth I can't stand that I play in third person a lot and it blurs everything up so it bugs my eyes  Always turn off but thanks again for the advice now to go see if it works
raynark Posted January 11, 2014 Author Posted January 11, 2014 Also for v5 which would I download 0.245 or 0.236 as i can't find 0.231
Kodiak Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Yea it was the depth perception that started my whole journey into ENB. I didn't know how to turn it off since I stay in 1st person most of the time. Â I think its .245 you want. .231 is old now. ENB updates regularly, just like any other major performance overhaul. I promise though, its going to take some tweaking to get things how you like it. I was frustrated for that first week regretting I upgrades from classic to v5. Went back to classic at one point. Â You know you did it right when you load up and on that first Skyrim menu screen, in the top left you will have the ENB information and some marquee messages about the in game menu. In game menu is Shift+Enter. It will not pause the game though, so make sure you open the console or something first.
raynark Posted January 13, 2014 Author Posted January 13, 2014 So i'm back and the framerates did increase by 10 so it would stay at the 30-40 range and not go any higher but hay at least some progress had been made. Â I missing around with the classic since classic is still going slow 30-50 which is odd I can't get it to 60. However i messed around with the enb.ini from the 102 and was sorta able to make a beautiful gameplay for me. How ever i can't seem for figure why I can't run ssao and bloom as when i watch youtube videos of it and hear people say it runs at 60 to 50 mine does not.Â
Uriel Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 During the game, go into ENB Gui, in enbseries.ini window set "Enable timing measure" under "Profiler" section. Directly under the "Enable timing measure", you will be able to see how much time each ENB effect requires, and find the most demanding. Also, are you using VSYNC? Maximum prerendered frames?
raynark Posted January 13, 2014 Author Posted January 13, 2014 Turn Vsync off the frames for some reason jump up when i turn it off don't know why
raynark Posted January 15, 2014 Author Posted January 15, 2014 Okay this is done figured out the issue and everything running smoothly thanks guys for the help
