Mod not installed but showed up in game

Mod I am having ghost into my game is Extended Facial Sculpting.    https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/25087

I was not using this mod and it was a hassle to get through in looks menu so I uninstalled it 7 - 8 months ago, the other day I decided to start a new game and there it was gumming up the works, checked the mod page for uninstall directions, looked in the data folder for the files, not found but there it is in game, I believe it is causing instability in game.

I am unsure what to do, I do not use the cloud, launch from my desktop F4SE launcher, not online with Steam, this was like a gremlin just showing up.

I installed and uninstalled it again with no effect in game but it is not in my data files after uninstall.

Any help and or advice is most welcome.

Extended facial sculpting has no plugin file. You need to look for (in case you have the Steam version and did not change the default installation folders):

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data\meshes\actors\character\characterassets

There you find 2 files "HumanRaceFacialBoneRegionsFemale.txt" and "HumanRaceFacialBoneRegionUIRemappingFemale.txt" (In case you installed it for females)

Deleting them should remove the mod. But the mod will not make the game unstable as long as you use vanilla races and heads. I use it since the first days without the slightest problems.

I did exactly that which you suggested, no hint of the mod there but it is still showing in game so something is borked somewhere. For it to show up on it's own without the mod installed is an issue that I don't know how to solve.

Holy Birthdaycake, Thank You so much, I would never have found that.

I did three type searches yesterday before posting here with no results, the thing I really don't understand is why it just showed back up in my game after having been gone for quite some time.
