Newbie, a few questions about WW, body parts, and compatibility

Hi, so I'm new here, and was hoping someone more in-the-know could help me start off . I have looked at documentation for WW and understand the basics, but... some questions:

 

• Can I identify if an older body part, skin, or overlay is compatible with the current version? WW's website warns about outdated content, but I see some people currently using body parts like Sopor's Allure breasts, for instance, which appears not to have been updated since 2018. Is there any way but trial-and-error to figure this out?
• Are there some body parts and skins/overlays that are commonly used by the community and recognized as reliable? (I looked through the beginner modlist guide, but again it seems to be from 2020.)

 

All the options available seem pretty overwhelming, so any help would be appreciated!

I cannot say with absolute certainty that there's no body part or skins that are unreliable or outdated, if we're strictly talking usability... but most of them are fine. I currently use Sopor's Allure and have been since I discovered it back in I think 2019 and to this day, I have never had a single problem with it that was caused by the mod being old. 

The only thing that can reliably break from updates are script mods, which are mods that have a TS4SCRIPT file extension. And occasionally, things like hair, lashes, and build CC can also break, but not always. Penises, vaginas, and tongues can break too, but I'd say this is even less common. It's not something I actively worry about. 

As for functionality of the body parts, that can be outdated in that they may lack the animated vagina/anus feature that was introduced to WW a couple of years back. Older penises, anuses and vaginas (excluding the default in WW, which does have this feature) may not be animated in newer animations released that have them. Always check the description to be sure. But even if you decide to test it out in game, it's not going to crash your game or anything. 

TL:DR? Choose whatever you want. Personal favorite for female bits are the default WW female vagina, I just think it serves its purpose well and Sopor's Allure for breasts. For men, my current favorite is Noir's Pornstar Cock V7 on their Patreon ($1 paywall). Favorite upper body for men is Dumbaby's THOR.

Hey thanks for the detailed reply (and recommendations), that gives me a better understanding of how things work. I'll experiment with some stuff and see what I like.
