BoS playthrough

Using Start Me Up, I'm considering doing a BoS playthrough, but I wonder which startpoint to pick and how to get the BoS to arrive ASAP. Apart from doing the mainquest, are there any other ways? Maybe some mod which pulls it forward or something?

Any other suggestions, please?

Since the appearance of the BoS main force is tied to the quest with Kellog (Fort Hagen), creating such a (preferential) mod becomes quite complex.

 

Essentially, all that remains is a "turbo run" through the most important points.

a) Start in the Vault or visit the Vault (if you chose an alternative start)

b) Recruit "Dogmeat" - so that the quest to follow the Kellogg's "scent trail" makes sense (where else would you get the dog?)

c) Visit the police station and help Paladin "Dense's" BoS squad

d) 1st visit to Diamond City and talk to Piper... so that you even learn about Detective "Valentine"

e) Free "Valentine" from the Mafia gang in the bunker

f) Talk to "Valentine" in his office - then visit "Kellogg's" apartment in D.C.

g) Follow the scent trail from D.C. to Fort Hagen with the help of "Dogmeat"

h) Confront and kill "Kellog" - Leave Fort Hagen -> sequence with the airship will play... the game is in phase 2

 

Everything else can be ignored - especially this strange group in Concord... who allow me to live in my own house

Kill them for their temerity.

 

People talk shit about Preston, but he's the only one of the lot whose personality I would tolerate if I encountered them in a tabletop RPG. The others I'd tell to fuck off.

 

I view everything I encounter in a quest/adventure computer game through the lens of "What would I think if a game master put an NPC like this in their game? Or, if a player played their character like this?" Preston is the only one of the Concord group who passes muster for me.
