Sneak text change?

Came across the (now rather old) mod 'Sarcastic Sneaking'. Figured it was a fantastic idea.

 

So i wanted to try and make my own version that would slide well into NSFW with the lines changing to be a bit more mocking, snide and unhelpful.

However it seems like i can only change each level once -Safe, Spotted/friendly, Caution, Spotted/enemy.

 

Is there a way to create a script where it would select a sentence at random from a small selection for each level of the sneak progress.

Whilst i can just alter the mod or even use console commands to adjust the ones in my game i'd like to get some variety going, I'm still very new to modding so not sure exactly what i'm doing but i want to learn ❤️

 

For examples, along the lines of these.

Safe: 'Nothing to see here' 'Wow, they must be blind.'

Caution: 'Maybe take off the heels?' 'Your not good at this, are you?'

Danger: 'Seriously?! Just surrender.' 'You really wanted to get caught, huh?"

 

Those are just a few from the top of my head XD

So, for your mod specifically what you need is an SWF editor.

 

I don't know how old you are but back in the old days, YouTube used to require Adobe Flash Player which could handle SWF files.

 

The mod you're talking about should have a file in a folder structure like this:

 

Data\Interface\HUDMenu.swf

Open that file with the SWF editor of your choice. Unfortunately I can't help you here because I really don't know any as I don't usually do SWF editing myself.

 

Find the text you want to replace, and replace it with whatever you want.

 

 

 

 

 

Also, nmagod is just pointing out that your sentence is grammatically incorrect. You should be using "You're" instead of "Your" because you're trying to say "You are not good at this, are you?".

Ah. Thank you, English is not good for me XD Though I do try to make things clear to read even if i get the spelling wrong.

 

That method lets you change it once. I want it to pick from a list so it has some randomness to how it's mocking you.

Ah, that's a bit more complicated. It might require F4SE and some actual coding.
