Steak Barbare Posted May 18, 2025 Posted May 18, 2025 Hi everyone, I'd like to create my own poses, but I can't figure out how to convert the NIF files (my character's body, creatures and skeletons) into .blend files. I've often been told Google is your friend, but it's also a real jerk When I try to get answers, Google always finds something other than what I'm looking for, which is why I'm asking you. Compared to animations, there haven't been many pose mods, but it shouldn't be that complicated to do, thanks.
traison Posted May 19, 2025 Posted May 19, 2025 Blender 3.6.4 io_scene_nifly.zip, version 18.2 When importing nif, give it the male skeleton from xpmse, otherwise it will always fail.
Steak Barbare Posted May 20, 2025 Author Posted May 20, 2025 (edited) Ok thanks, and for the creatures, is it the same ? Blender 4.4 too advanced or no longer compatible? Edited May 20, 2025 by Steak Barbare
traison Posted May 20, 2025 Posted May 20, 2025 Which blender version works is going to depend on the io_scene_nifly plugin. Those are just the versions I use right now. I imagine creatures will work the same way, just need to find the skeleton to use when importing the mesh.
Steak Barbare Posted May 20, 2025 Author Posted May 20, 2025 Ok, I'll look into it this weekend, I don't have time right now, thanks again.
traison Posted May 20, 2025 Posted May 20, 2025 I have them archived here if you for some reason need the same versions and can't find them online. I remember io_scene_nifly was difficult to find; but I suppose now that you know the name it should be a lot easier.
Steak Barbare Posted May 21, 2025 Author Posted May 21, 2025 I found it , but the cmd won't launch. Is there anything special I need to do?
traison Posted May 21, 2025 Posted May 21, 2025 What cmd? Install like any other legacy plugin: https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/editors/preferences/addons.html
