I want to know how to extract the lower body mesh in WW mode

If I extract the bottom mesh that I use in ww mode from sims 4 studio

The weights are broken, causing the sim to move like an octopus in-game.

I want to know how to extract it as is while preserving the weight. I want to make the costume I made follow the movement of the ww mode bottom.

Great question! I am also interested in the answer. I just started using Blender.

I don't know if this helps...

My AI returned this to you:

You're diving into rigging and weight painting—nice. That explanation is essentially saying that instead of merging the clothing mesh with the character model, you should keep it as a separate object and attach it to the skeleton (armature) independently. Then, you need to assign weight painting to the clothing so it moves correctly with the bones.

Here’s a breakdown:

  1. Parenting the Clothes Mesh: Instead of joining the clothing to the character mesh, you parent it separately to the armature. This ensures the clothing follows the skeleton without interfering with the base model.
  2. Weight Painting: This step assigns influence to different bones so the clothing moves naturally when the character animates.
  3. Add-ons: There are Blender add-ons that can simplify this process, like EBBAWT, which helps with accurate weight painting.

If you're running into issues where the mesh deforms strangely after parenting, you might need to reset the armature’s pose before applying automatic weights. You can also check out discussions on Reddit where people troubleshoot similar problems.

Let me know if you need more details—I can help break it down further.

I'm currently looking for a way to transfer a rig from WW mod to an override rig in sims 4 studio. I think it's a sims 4 studio issue rather than a blender issue.

Yes, that's right. I made the mesh for the costume, but when I extracted the mesh from the ww mod bottom to set the weight, the weight was broken.

OK, there's the WW rig. I think this is what you're looking for https://turbodriver.itch.io/wickedwhims/devlog/139568/converting-blender-animations-to-clips-2

although the "octopus" thing could be a weight issue, I wouldn't really know if I didn't see your .blend file, anyway, I hope this helps
