gatafumeta Posted May 8, 2025 Posted May 8, 2025 PlumbBros de Lot51 (traducción española) View File Mod original "PlumbBros" o "HermanosPlomo" del creador Lot51. Gatafumeta, my sister in Christ, No offence, but this is not the way to make translations. The description claims this is only a translation, but it's not true, you're including the whole mod file in it. Which you really shouldn't! This is a horrible practice, that will lead to all kind of problems down the line in case the mod get updated but your translation isn't! It should be only the spanish string table in your translation package file, and nothing else. I didn't check all your files, but the 5-6 I did all had this issue! Please read some tutorials on how to do this properly!!!
gatafumeta Posted August 2, 2025 Author Posted August 2, 2025 Hi again! I’m replying in English this time just in case you didn’t understand my previous message in Spanish. Hi, thank you for your feedback. I understand the concern, but I respectfully disagree. The file you mentioned —the one hosted on CurseForge as 1_lot51_plumbbros_SPA_ES_GF.package— has been thoroughly checked and contains only the Spanish string table, nothing else. No scripts, no tunings, no original mod assets. I verified this myself, and it was also reviewed and approved by CurseForge moderators, who do check that translations don’t include content from the original mod. I use Sims4Translator to generate a clean translation file, as per the standard process. If you found issues in other files, feel free to provide specific evidence or filenames so I can double-check and improve if needed. I’m always open to constructive feedback, but I kindly ask for more accuracy and respect when addressing this kind of topic. Thank you.

No scripts, no tunings, no original mod assets. Are you sure?!? It's 4Mb. A string table is never that big! It's also the same size as the original mod. Opened it in Sims4Studio, it clearly includes the whole mod, minus the script file, but that's irrelevant, as script files only do injections and stuff usually.
The Sheriff Posted August 2, 2025 Posted August 2, 2025 look, i stripped out everything but the spanish string file from it, and it's only 15KB - not 4MB!: 1_lot51_plumbbros_SPA_ES_GF.package
gatafumeta Posted August 2, 2025 Author Posted August 2, 2025 It seems I’m not the one who needs translation tutorials after all. As you can see from the weight comparison of the files involved, my translation is significantly smaller than the original mod: File Size (MB) Size (KB) Content lot51_plumbbros.package 12.74 MB 13,046 KB Original mod content (objects, tuning) lot51_plumbbros.ts4script 0.26 MB 269 KB Functional script file (essential) 1_lot51_plumbbros_SPA_ES_GF.package 4.21 MB 4,309 KB Only translation (string tables) The .ts4script file, which contains the mod’s core logic, is completely absent from my file. And 4MB is entirely normal for a full translation when you preserve all the string tables — which is exactly what Sims4Translator is designed to do. Now, if you're suggesting that CurseForge staff —who manually review and approve every file, and who have rejected some of mine for far less— are knowingly approving illegal redistributions of mods, then you're implying that both their QA process and platform policy are compromised. And if you're implying that you understand Sims4Studio’s internals better than an AI trained to analyze binary package files, then perhaps we’re not speaking the same language. 🔍 Regarding your Sims4Studio screenshot: Yes —Sims4Studio displays model LODs, definitions, and tuning XMLs when present. But what you're seeing here is a partial preservation of identifiers and tuning references used by the game to match strings with gameplay elements. That’s expected and necessary for the translation to work. These do not carry functional logic, scripts, or assets from the original mod. The XML shown is neutral; it has no operational code. Your claim of reducing it to 15KB is only valid if you strip out 99% of the content — in which case, you no longer have a functioning translation. That's like translating one sentence and calling it a full localization. I’m replying kindly because I’m a happy woman floating on her pool lounger, not because I’m unaware. I genuinely care about respecting mod creators. I support many of them through donations and subscriptions, and I’d never intentionally distribute their work improperly. If I ever made a mistake, I’d fix it immediately — no ego involved. And if one day you find something truly problematic in one of my files, I’ll be grateful for the correction. But in this case, there’s nothing to correct. Have a great weekend.

This is simply not true, a translation package file only needs the string table to be included in it and nothing else. Also, there are no such things as "neutral" tuning files, they all have a purpose... 15 minutes ago, gatafumeta said: I’d never intentionally distribute their work improperly. I never claimed you're doing it intentionally. You're likely just mistaken. 16 minutes ago, gatafumeta said: And if you're implying that you understand Sims4Studio’s internals better than an AI trained to analyze binary package files, then perhaps we’re not speaking the same language. I am implying that I know what I see, and I see all the tuning files unnecessarily included in your upload. Here, check out this translation for LITERALLY THE SAME MOD from Curseforge. you see how it's just the string tables that's in it, and nothing else... and it's not 4MB like yours!!! I honestly think there is some problem somewhere in your workflow setup... again, I'm not claiming you're doing what you do on purpose, but that does not change the fact that you're unnecessarily including whole mod (tuning xml) files in your translations. ...but whatevs, I give up at this point, maybe someone else can chime in, and confirm that what I said is true, and I didn't just make it up. See ya!
