Addasus Posted May 8, 2025 Posted May 8, 2025 (edited) Hello I'm having a bizarre issue with my screen currently when playing Skyrim. Basically, about half of the screen is showing the gameworld, and the rest of it is black, but not entirely so. This isn't a case of my preferences having the wrong aspect ratio in my preferences, as the game does seem aware that the black space is supposed to be used. However, it uses it in odd ways, overlaying text as normal, but creating weird ghosting effects. Any help would be appreciated Here's some examples: Edited May 8, 2025 by Addasus Tags
traison Posted May 8, 2025 Posted May 8, 2025 Does Skyrim actually support ultrawide, or is a patch needed for this? May want to search for "ultrawide" on the Nexus to see if any obvious "makes it work" -patches show up. If we assume it does: Disable all things that hook into DX, for instance: ENB, CS, ReShade, overlays (including Steam and nVidia/AMD), ... Reset your Skyrim ini. Try windowed mode. Try a different display driver from your graphics card vendor. 1
