monsta88 Posted April 16, 2025 Posted April 16, 2025 (edited) Hi there, I built a new LO but it has a critical issue. Skyrim SE won't load into the Main Menu (Continue, New Game, etc). In Task Manager I don't see anything unusual, the SkyrimSE.exe never goes to Not Responding or crashes, or anything. As Skyrim loads, I see the ENB activating, I can go into its menu. The smoke is smoking as usual, and the spinner on the bottom right keeps spinning, but never reaches the Main Menu. Except, if I have this patch in the load order. KRI_DBM_EXTRA_DelayPatch.esp This is a gutted version of an old Legacy of the Dragonborn patch, for v5.x. The LotD is now at v6.x and a variation of this Delay Patch is included in the main mod. If this esp is in the LO, I can reach the Main Menu. But that is not good either, because its content interferes with the main LotD mod. It has 2 Packages, which are not present in the original mod. Both of them are needed, otherwise I never get to the Main Menu. This was a bigger mod, but as I wrote I removed everything unnecessary and ended up with this. I hope someone can figure out what is in these packages which magically make the game load. Since it doesn't crash, I don't have crash logs, but if any other log can help, tell me which one you need. If it helps, I can upload a load order too, but we are talking about 440+ plugins and 99% of them already worked together before. I have another LO where I tested new mods before I built this LO. I had LotD v6.9 too there, it was then when i discovered this issue and the workaround too. That's how I know that this little patch interferes with the main mod. So the problem is not new, but I hoped that starting a completely new LO will solve it. It didn't. What I tried so far: - removed the ESL flag, so the main mod would overwrite it. It doesn't. - I added ESM flag, I wanted to load it before the main mod, but because of the Master status, I can't move it before the main mod (also .esm). So basically this small mod always loads after the main mod, and so creates problems. - Uncheck the .esp in the mod list. - Infinite spinner. Now I can just hope that someone had similar problem before and has an easy solution. Edited April 17, 2025 by monsta88
monsta88 Posted April 17, 2025 Author Posted April 17, 2025 To my massive surprise, I figured it out. Somehow those packages affected another mod, a DBG NPC overhaul mod. As it turned out that mod also had Packages, some of them were outdated. Still, with the combination of the Delay patch, it somehow worked. The NPC mod had an update for v6.x and now I have Main Menu.
