[request/search] Replacing wooden mannequins with human models - beginner needs help

Hi everyone,
I'm fairly new to Skyrim modding and trying to figure out how to customize mannequins. I'd like to:

• Place mannequins wherever I want in my home/world (using console commands?)
• Replace the wooden mannequins with actual human models
• Possibly use custom race models as mannequins

 

I mainly want to see how different clothes and armors look on various body types before equipping them. Could someone explain how mannequins actually work in the game? And are there any mods you'd recommend for what I'm trying to do?

Living Mannequins has some better looking mannequins that I use.

Mannequins Improved has a lot of the features you are looking for. You could replace the skin texture changes with the naked bodies for each race.

 

They are actually just a NPC that has spell cast on them so they do not move.
