Skyrim Skeleton/Animations + Maya 2013?

I've done some research into this on my own, but I've got very little experience with Creation Kit/Blender/NifSkope, so I thought it might just be easier to ask. 

 

Maya 2013 contains a tool that allows a user to take an animation from one skeleton, and bake it on to a different skeleton simply by defining a few key body parts. I've used this process on several projects I've worked on in the past, and I'm curious if there might be a way to apply this to Skyrim (and potentially save any animators the trouble of recreating animations).

If anyone has any theories on how this might be achieved, I'd be happy to test them out as best I can.
