deactivating or removing mods for troubleshooting?

Hi Guys,

I have to rework and update my mod list. I can load a game without crashing (since I deactivated the Ulitimate AAF Patch (why did I install it in the first place?)), but the debug mode is active and a bunch of things are missing (e.g.: Unlimited Companion Framework, ccfsvfo4002-midcenturymodern.esl).

It would be convinient, if AAF remains acitve, as rebuiling it from the start is a pain.

 

What I wonder: Is it sufficient to deactivate mods in MO2, or is it better to remove them completely?
