SexulPenut Posted April 1, 2025 Posted April 1, 2025 I am having a very glaring issue where I will have shadows over my character when there should be light, but I am too new to modding to understand the issue. The first two screenshots are simply me looking up from the same spot. When looking down, it looks fine, but looking up causes the shadows. I also have two more examples of shadows in places that should be lit. I have Lux, Lux Orbis, and Lux Via, I have all the patches for my other mods I know of, I am using the PI-CHO enb preset with no edits beyond what they already have, I am also using soft shadows, shadow boost, EVLAS, Embers XD, and ENB Helper and SMIM mods if any of those would mess with lighting plus I have my load order, but do note that some of those are unchecked in MO2 for compatability reasons, and a few of them I can't recall which mod added them. I also have ENB version .503 for SE. Is my mod list wrong and causing a lighting clash or maybe an issue with my textures? Or do I need to mess with the ENB settings or get a mod that fixes the issue? loadorder.txt
Melissa_69 Posted April 2, 2025 Posted April 2, 2025 (edited) Send me a copy of your Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini file and I should look at them for different values. They should be inside the folder "C:\Users\*Username*\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition" folder. Edited April 2, 2025 by Melissa_69 I had this issue before, fixing the inis correctly also helped me with my problem.

These are the ones from my Mod Order 2 instance folder as that is what I'm using. Only touched the few things that the ENB preset said to change so no idea if I needed to do more with them.
Melissa_69 Posted April 2, 2025 Posted April 2, 2025 Try these and see if shadows work correctly. Unzip them to your folder where your old inis were. Inis.zip

Well, it appears to be the same, but I wonder if it's an issue with LAL or the abandoned prison more so than the lighting as lighting works perfectly in an exterior area and I notice a weird spinning light in the first room of the abandoned prison where the little waterfall is
SexulPenut Posted April 2, 2025 Author Posted April 2, 2025 Well, on the advice of someone else I deselected Lux and instead tried Relighting Skyrim + Window Shadows and have gotten rid of that issue at least and might prefer the new lighting 1
