SkyBarbie Posted March 31, 2025 Posted March 31, 2025 I haven't played the game in roughly six months but I came back and updated everything and noticed this weird behavior with Sims changing hairstyles and accessories that they weren't assigned in CAS for any outfit. Is The Sims doing this or WW? I didn't notice any new settings in WW that might affect this. I ran the following commands which didn't seem to help: ww.fix ww.fix_all_sims_nude_outfit ww.fix_all_sims_outfits Please advise on how to fix.
FoxSungTofu Posted March 31, 2025 Posted March 31, 2025 (edited) Sounds similar to an issue where I had any nude sims constantly changing clothes. It turned out to be a outdated/broken body part mod for WW. Check the nude body part mesh you are using for both breasts and vagina. Edit: I just went back to double check the problem body parts I had at the time. For me it was all of secret crush's body part mods...idk if there was ever a fix made or discovered. RoRo9261 Posted March 31, 2025 Posted March 31, 2025 (edited) Think about this, this applies to everything: hairstyle, jewelry, glasses, clothes, all accessories, etc. Edited March 31, 2025 by RoRo9261
SkyBarbie Posted March 31, 2025 Author Posted March 31, 2025 It appears that whatever is going on is related to The Sims 4 and not necessarily WW. When I go into CAS some of my female Sims change their hairstyle and sometimes color at random. I use the new CAS feature to apply the choice to all outfits and as soon as I exit the Sim and go back into her, her hairstyle changes randomly again for one or more outfits. It doesn't seem to matter how many times I fix it. It's happening to nearly half of my Sims. When I updated my mods I changed very little except for the essential updates. I didn't add anything new, just updated all my mods that had an update. Very frustrating! Sims 4 may be going back on the shelf for good.
RoRo9261 Posted March 31, 2025 Posted March 31, 2025 (edited) In WickedWhims this happens following the method (see images) But as "FoxSungTofu" says, it could be due to a mod or an older texture that's no longer compatible with the game. The 50/50 method for finding the faulty mod is the only solution. Edited March 31, 2025 by RoRo9261
SkyBarbie Posted April 2, 2025 Author Posted April 2, 2025 (edited) After lots of trial and error and Internet searches it appears that this is a Maxis bug possibly aggravated by older CC that doesn't contain all LODs. I basically removed all my mods except for CAS mods and the problem persisted. I never saw this bug until recently and I have over 3000 hours into this game. Apparently the 'Slice of Life' mod can cause this exact issue also but I've never used that mod before and searched my mods folder for it and it doesn't exist in my load order. I performed all the typical troubleshooting steps such as repairing the game and deleting all the cache files (localthumbcache.package, localsimtexturecache.package, and avatarcache.package). I have far too much CAS CC to try and go through all of it using the 50/50 method - 30 GBs and 7,355 files. I'm putting The Sims 4 back on the shelf for now and may give it another try in six months or so and see if anything has changed... Thank you to everyone who offered suggestions!
