BunHopp Posted March 26, 2025 Posted March 26, 2025 rubber and latex does not fit into skyrim for me, is there anything that takes this stuff out of makes it different material ? 1
Have you even taken a closer look at this mod? - Almost all latex bondage clothing is also -> made of leather. - There's also plenty of bondage gear with ropes and some metal—even things (like expandable ball gags) that, even in the Middle Ages, only existed in the imaginations of storytellers and illustrators. --- If rubber doesn't fit Skyrim (i.e., the world of TES), then there shouldn't be any mechanical Dwemer machines either... or how are moving parts (shafts and pistons) supposed to be sealed? This essentially only works with permanently elastic materials, aka RUBBER. And yes - when rubber began to be used as a sealing material during the Industrial Revolution on Earth, it was also used for clothing purposes! One more thing... the world of TES is NOT a copy of our ancient history or the Middle Ages!

I agree with you. Doesn't fit my head-canon either, especially the gas-masks. Really, gas-masks in a fantasy set in a "Middle Ages" world? I get some people really like it, and that's fine, nothing wrong with their preferences but would it be that difficult ( I don't mod so I don't know ) to put in a selection in the MCM page to pick and choose which items you want or don't want? Devious Devices in Fallout 4 has that ability. It would allow each of us to pick and choose what works in their own head-canon. 3

Hex Bolt Posted March 27, 2025 Posted March 27, 2025 To your original question, I'm not aware of a mod that transforms the look of items that you aesthetically don't care for. However, Devious Devices is just a framework; it adds nothing to the game world. So, in the absence of what you were looking for, you can carefully choose mods that use DD. Many are configurable to use the device sets that you like. You might decide to skip others that use things that you don't want on you or on NPCs. Mods will usually give you a good idea of what devices they will use. It's not what you'd hoped for, but with a little research, you can have the version of Skyrim that suits you (no one gets to tell you how you should play your game for your entertainment). 1
cetuximab Posted March 28, 2025 Posted March 28, 2025 Take a look at Devious Lore. It provides lore explanations and name changes for a lot of Devious Devices, including the latex stuff (which is based on Dwemer oil). Includes some quests to find devices, and risk getting tied up in them. The downside is this mod is old and unsupported, so it won't work with newer DD mods that patch DD like Unforgiving Devices. I'm also not totally certain about Devious Devices NG, I haven't tested it out with that yet. 1
