deathmorph Posted March 14, 2025 Posted March 14, 2025 How do you have the option of saving "normal" and saving quickly. The latter is generally not recommended because it should create corrupt save. That is why I only save in the game via the Mod smokable cigarettes. However, the game also saves after sleeping. And there is a mod in which you can save in these little blue bunkers. Puwlowski or something like that. Are these "normal" save or rather quickly save and therefore not recommended?

I've also the impression that autosaves can become unreliable, especially in games with a lot of playtime and extensive mods. And CTD while trying to load a game is not a nice experience I use mods to create normal/hard saves. Like https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/37599 or https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12262 (and the fixes). Both have the option to either create auto or normal saves. How do you feel about this save being a real save? https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/26709?tab=description

And this brings us full circle. I just tested the bed function. Autosave. Pulowski apparently also autosave. If autosaves become corrupt over time, then the only option left is smoking cigarettes as an immersive option? Or I could save via AN2, but that's not immersive.

You have to set this in the MCM of Sleep or Save. I just tested it and it creates normal saves: Spoiler EDIT: Don't forget to also install the fixes for Sleep or Save. HeavyYoungHeathens Posted March 15, 2025 Posted March 15, 2025 There is also this one: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/53246 with "Does not override Auto saves but creates new ones. Made for survival" 1

I uninstalled the sleep or save option; the game was getting too easy for my taste Now I've started a new run, and despite uninstalling the mod, the option still appears. It doesn't work, but it's there. Do you happen to have any idea what might be causing this?

Maybe that'll help. edit// No, that wasn't it. "Save" is still there, but has no function. edit// I've now completely reinstalled the mod and fix and uninstalled them again. Now it worked. Before that, I used the MCM uninstall function. I did that the first time, too. Who knows where the uninstallation went wrong. But your answer put me on the right track. Thanks. edit// Unfortunately, I have to correct myself again. The sleep mod is buggy. Even after uninstalling it, it's still included in the MCM as active. Oh well, I'll reinstall it and just not use it. Can it be because the fix is not for version 2.2, but for 2.0? And that is why something is left? Edited March 30, 2025 by deathmorph

The reason why the Sleep Or Save MCM is displayed is because the files are still in your installation when you load the game. Like the MCM/Config/SleepOrSave/ folder. Otherwise it wouldnt appear. Because the options are also visible in the MCM? So a vortex error? PS: I see Vortex didn't remove the esp. Maybe it's because I used the remove option in the MCM beforehand? I don't know, I'm not deep enough into the matter. So I manually deleted everything called sleeporsave in the Steam folder. The SoS folder and its contents, scripts, esp. Now it should work. Thanks for the encouragement, I think I need a vacation. Edited March 30, 2025 by deathmorph
