rylasasin Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 The title screen starts up okay, I select new game, I hear the heartbeat, and then nothing. The game freezes right there and then. Sometimes I don't even get the heartbeat. It's not mods, I've completely deleted all of them and reinstalled Fallout 3 from scratch multiple times. Yet every time it's the exact same story. I've tried restarting my comp but it's the same deal. It's not incorrect directory. I have steam in C:/Steam. And it's only fallout 3 that gives me this sort of problem. New Vegas, Oblivion, and Skyrim all work fine. System specs: - CPU: AMD 4170 4.20GH Quad Core - RAM: 8gb - GPU: 2x Geforce GTX 560 2GB -Windows 7 Yeah it's not my specs either. Plus, I have been able to play fallout 3 before, in fact it was just recently that it started doing this (before I was having a problem with "halo shadows" where strange shadowy outlines of objects would appear next to real objects.)" And like I said it's only Fallout 3 that's giving me this trouble. Edit: Loading a save game does not work either.
alphaman94 Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 Do you have manually delete all the INI files? When you delete a steam game, the INI stay in the "My Games" folder.
rylasasin Posted January 1, 2014 Author Posted January 1, 2014 I think I found it. forgot to alter/add busethreadedai = 1 and Inumhwthreads=2 . Why the fuck beth couldn't have this enabled by default or have the installer detect your systems settings and adjust accordingly (like it does for graphics) is way beyond me. Goddammit beth can you do anything right?! Between this and not allowing multiple master loads in geck, you think they were on purposely trying to piss us off. Oh well, problem solved. At least.
Guest endgameaddiction Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 You can load multiple masterfiles with GECK. Open up GECKCustom.ini Ctrl+F to bring up the search bar and type in bAllow. Should be the first search.Change bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=0 to bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=1 and save the changes.
