Can a save bug out and mess with body slots?

On my current play though, I have companion with armor from the Amazing World of Bikini Armour mod. In the last half dozen saves i made, I notice she was now topless, when she should have a full bikini. In the bugged saves, she would only equip the top or the thong, but not both, despite no changes to my mods, load order etc.

 

What might have been the cause between saves? I already noticed and went back all the bugged saves, but if I couldn’t  what would a solution be?

Try the armor on yourself and if your character is topless it's an issue with the mesh or something that conflicts with the body slot. Is your companion wearing any devious devices that might conflict with the bikini top? If you open the console, click her and type inv, you will see everything she is carrying or wearing. Even things that don't show up in the inventory. You could also try the command "resurrect" or "dispelallspells". Those are the things I can think of of the top of my head.

Its all still in inventory, and tops and thongs were mutually exclusive, even on my PC (changed sex because i play male PCs) INV shown items are still in inventories and what is worn and not are true.
