TG EndlessEnd SpecialQuest Bugfix

This script fix is intended to fix the ancient bug of the possibility endless finishing the special quest.

 

As a side effect I reduced the grindquest to 1 per city.

I am aware, that other mods are doing this, but this is a side effect !

 

The main goal is fixing the bug.

(Actually, reducing the sidequest from 125 original  to a reduced numbers increases the chance to have this bug.

 

I tested with an older PC, which has done all the quest already.

If you have this bug, just finish the quest once more and the lines should not appear anymore.

 

It has been some kind of double bug.

The repeatable quest set wrong values on 2 places in the script what cause the issue, finish it endless.

 

I did not test from start, because my PC is just not ready for it.

Thanks for this fix.  Admittedly it took me a while to figure out that this mod is actually for the Thieves' Guild.  We have so many mods now that some abbreviations may not be recognized by other mod users.  Just my 2 cents, you may want to just spell out that this is Thieves Guild Endless End Special Radiant Leadership Quest Bug Fix, or perhaps notify others under the description.  I really think this is a very worthwhile bug fix.

I will keep future fixes now for my private use only.

 

Tried again, but turned out, uploading is just an annoying thing.

Good thing for you, I will not delete 50% of my tweaks this time.

 

You guys got no idea how many h of work it is to trace down and fix a bug.

Complain about minutes to find the picture and need to think a bit, nothing compared to aquire the knowledge,

search the web, got an idea where to search and hkw to fix with minimum intrusion to keep it compatible for others.

I am weak in descriptions, others are weak in bugfixes.

Still collecting data. Main issue, only one quest stage for all 4 special quest and shared comments.

I think to introduce a global bool to block.  But did not find out what will be the best place for this.

 

It's not game breaking, no problem to use this. However, I sunk my teeth  into it, cannot get rid of the problem in my brain.

Just a break, doing other thinks until I finished collecting data until the Heureka effect appears.

Guess  found it, at least the place.

See if it works, if not I need to do more edits (if condition), which I wanted to avoid

 

Flowergirls Adventures introduces a property not used in the script. Will see what happens, if I define it.

It looks like no need, see no place where it is used. So the default esp should do it.

 

 

Don't use V3.

Use V2. Need to think again about it.

It works for me, needs the USSEP patch, as this patch makes a lot of changes to exactly this quest.

(Guess they tried to fix exactly this problem, which is a base game bug as searching the net reveals)

Did not dig deeper into their changes, just made my fix over it.

It must have an esp now, but ir's a FE flagged one.

 

If there is interest, I could make a fix without USSEP as master.

 

V42.1

place the blocker to a later quest stage.

With V42 you might not get the 350 gold reward from Delvin Not game breaking.

Need volunteers, which are on finishing the latest special quest, to see if they get the reward for the 4th special quest.

I won't do it for a while, I am is sick of doing this quest.

TG to me means TransGender, the post you ranted was informative to me, all I see is someone trying to help with a suggestion on how to improve the description.

You went off the deep end of being offended by your own bias, with someone trying to help because you somehow took offence where no offence was intended, in what I read today.

Just to be clear this post is intended to inform you of an alternative opinion, not offend you.

I became the unofficial lead support for Mod Organizer (2013-16), by answering 80% of users questions while Tannin was doing his full time job.

He soon asked the handful of voluntary support users answering question (I stepped back after "Creation Club") to become the official support.

 

Good documentation is very hard to write in your native language, nobody offering advice is criticizing you for not doing it well first time round.

The original "manual" I wrote, scattered piecemeal in a 16,000 post thread in Nexus Mods, I moved support to STEP.

DoubleYou one of the others on the MO Support Team, stepped up & wrote a much better manual than I could, which is still on the site today.

That took years of work to perfect & was written for MO, until Tannin got the Vortex job, I'd Boycotted BGS on Steam by then, due to adding "In Game Cash Shops" after release.

Later MO2 moved to discord after I left, because it's not easy especially if you're updating the mod as a hobby.

Because of your own reaction to so few words, this is as perfect an example of that point as I could "Cherry Pick" myself.

You took 2 words out of my entire post & made a response to those two words.

 

Of course I don't know if you're offended or not, it's what you post in responce to "Cherry picking" a small part of a sentence & making it about you.

If you're not offended the way you are responding to a small part of the posts & ignore the rest makes your posts appear to be from someone offended, regardless of your intent.

 

So to explain, and as I said in that post I'm not meaning to offend you, both the OP & I were giving you advise on how the name & description of your mod appears confusing to some people. I originally thought TG was Transgender, but even knowing it was a radiant quest bugfix might have been enough.

 

I'd just read the OP which gave me the exact explanation your description lacked, the next post was your rant about the most useful post on the page to me.

Knowing how hard good documentation is to write in your native language, I offered some additional advice.

 

All you did was rant about a few words, ignored the rest & somehow you can't understand how that looks like you're offended.

Maybe an example will help ?

 

The first informative post:

 

"It would be more informative to spell it out, TG means Thieves Guild, so others (like myself) don't need to guess what it means."

 

-> contribute, informative, helpful, no you.

"You" in that respect always causes an defending emotion, what needs brainpower to supress.

Wasted power, defiating thinking, not needed, probably used to (think about it by self reflecting).
