nekekami Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 So I got back into fallout again and have been using enb (wrapper) the 4gb and nvse no problem but decided to do some experimenting and found out that dropping my screen res a bit had a masive effect on my fps, so much that I can't go back to playing how it was. The problem is that with enb enabled i just get a black screen on startup, I can hear everything happening in the background but can only see black. If I remove the d3d9 it loads fine but no enb obviously. Also if I leave the dll and revert to my native res it works fine again. After about 4 hous of trying different things I'm just going to go play without enb but I really want to know whats going on so any help would be great. -EDIT SOLVED- going into the exe compatibility options and checking the last three boxes, disable desktop composition etc, solved the issue.
Guest endgameaddiction Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 If you are using WIndows 8, I'd try the injector instead. If you are using an ATI aka AMD card then it depends what d3d9.dll (ENB Binary) you are using as there has been complications with ENB and ATI. I know v0.173 worked for ATI. I'm not sure if the newer versions support it. And just to ask. You aren't rendering your resolution with SRWE are you? And if not, Are you adjusting your settings in the launcher menu? Or in the ini. file?
nekekami Posted December 31, 2013 Author Posted December 31, 2013 I've been trying both the ini file and using the launcher just to make shure I tried everything. I had isolated it to the dll so good to know that's actually the issue. I had to put a backup card in which is an ati but the new one that comes on friday is nvidia. Moot point then since I wont need to change the res but still nice to know. I'll try out the other dll in the meantime so thanks for the input. -edit- Just tried the older dll and still the same issue, I'll just live with it for a few days.
