thatruth25 Posted February 9, 2025 Posted February 9, 2025 Been trying to get back into uploading sims on here, but I didn't realize that LL dropped the max file upload size below 200 MB/folder. Does anybody have any good recs of sites for sims cc that isn't too heavy on the file size? Or, alternatively, what have you been doing to help with uploading?
Bambami Posted February 13, 2025 Posted February 13, 2025 Depends on what style of sims you want to create -- the maxis match style (it's the original style of the game, the cartoon-ish kind of cc) is usually a smaller file size and a lot of times you can fit a sim into less than 200 mb if you don't use a lot of CC. But if you prefer the alpha type of cc (the realisitc type of cc) then maybe split the sharing folder into 2 or 3 parts, and users will download all of them and paste everything in them into their mods folder. It's a little annoying to split everything, but you get used to it eventually lol. I'm usually doing the second version cause I prefer making alpha type of sims.

I float back and forth between the styles of sims I make, so I'm a bit all over the place, haha. something I did that helped was download S4Studio. I found a lot of my packages were merged, and by splitting them, I was able to clear up a lot of space without sacrificing my sims. I really need to do a deep dive into all my CAS cc and see if there is more that I can split. 1
DuoMaxwell003 Posted February 15, 2025 Posted February 15, 2025 You can download Sims4ModManager it will detect all merged files created with S4S, unmerge them, and delete the merged file. It's less time consuming than doing it manually with S4S. 1
