7anfoza45 Posted February 8, 2025 Posted February 8, 2025 Fat Rooster Games has launched a new game called Dungeons of Desire Reworked, which is version 0.4.2. The game's plot revolves on a dungeon crawler. Dungeons of Desire now has a new protagonist (albeit Beth may emerge as an NPC) and a whole new original soundtrack composed by the Fat Rooster team's newest member. Thread Updated: 2024-12-01 Release Date: 2023-12-18 Developer: Fat Rooster Webpage - Patreon - Itch - Twitter Censored: No Version: 0.4.2 OS: Windows Language: English Other Games: Dungeons of Desire Game Version Changelog: v0.3 New Feature: World Map. Plan your path across the universe of Dungeons of Desire. Randomized text events will happen, asking you to make options and respond. Your selections may be influenced by your character's attributes or available equipment, allowing for more deliberate and dynamic decisions. This version includes the first region of the game, The Outer Walls. New Feature: The Inn According to the global map, you may travel by an inn. At the inn, you may interact with a variety of characters or book a room and ask a guest to join you for the night. The Danger meter does not move while in the inn, so you are free to stay as long as you choose. New Feature: Relationships Some characters at inns and dungeons form long-term bonds with you. Flirt, converse, or offer presents to suitors to better your relationship with them. Building connections unlocks special advantages and favors, as well as unique scenes to explore in the gallery. Relationships do not reset between runs and will serve as a means of everlasting growth. New feature: Gallery mode. I wish I had mentioned this sooner, but it has now arrived! In-game animations are now enabled in the gallery, allowing you to enjoy them to your heart's delight. The gallery may be accessed via the title screen menu. The gallery's present version is quite modest, however it will be considerably upgraded in a future release. New enemy: The Demon. New items include boxing gloves and three new sex animations. Romanceable NPCs and Balancing Changes General Added breakable vases. Enemies can now drop stuff! Gold drop rates have increased marginally. Positive occurrences are more prevalent (you can't get to the boss without seeing any stores or bonfires). Kobold Attack frequency decreased by 10%. Attack damage lowered from 20 to 16 for Orcs. Attack frequency rose by ten percent. Maximum HP scaling has been lowered somewhat. Bug Fixes Fixed an issue that caused the game to lock up when an opponent was slain and harvested at the same time. Fixed a bug that led the Shopkeeper to occasionally sell blank products. Fixed an issue where things dropped from chests did not enhance stats. Fixed an issue that caused gold to not rise while sitting at a bonfire. Fixed a bug in which leveling up at a bonfire cost less gold than the expected amount. Known Bugs When entering a new chamber, you may be immediately redirected back to the previous area. Additionally, dialogue may look jumbled or blend phrases from separate strings. Occasionally, numerous interactive things will be highlighted simultaneously. Combat music will occasionally not play. Music and sound level adjustments are not operating properly in v0.2. This version includes several additional minor mechanics and a new (somewhat hidden) obscene animation involving the shopkeeper. One new item and a few new menu elements. Sex scenes now include a small minigame that affects the pace of the animation and the amount of healing provided by harvesting. This may be turned on or off in the settings. There is now a timed difficulty. The longer you stay in the dungeon, the more deadly the inmates get. This mechanism adds a new element of strategy to the game, pushing players to consider their options in the dungeon. When new levels are introduced, the difficulty will reset between them. Developer Notes: Hello everyone! It's been a while since I provided an update on the status of Dungeons of Desire, but I'm really eager to share what I've been working on. In my last post, I indicated that a Steam version will be launched in the spring of 2021 (which did not happen). I was working hard to refine everything into a product I could be proud of delivering, but I ran into a slew of technical and artistic challenges. A widespread game-breaking problem in the latest version of DoD caused sprites to be replaced by black boxes, leaving the game unplayable. I discovered that the fault was caused by a memory issue with the engine in which it was created, and despite my best efforts, I was unable to lower the game's memory use. Furthermore, when my technical and creative abilities grew, I could no longer be proud of the effort I put into the project. After considerable consideration, I decided to rebuild the game from the ground up, with a new graphic style and more interesting gameplay, while keeping the fundamental combat (1-handed controls) and roguelite aspects intact. Dungeons of Desire now has a new protagonist (though Beth may emerge as an NPC) and a whole new original soundtrack created by the first new member of the Fat Rooster team, whom I will introduce in a future article. I'll be releasing additional information next week, including screenshots and a preview of the new harvest animations. I'm excited to share the work I've been putting into this project, and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do. Also, I have several animations and other assets that I developed during the iterative process that resulted in the project as it stands now, which I will shortly share exclusively on Patreon.
