You are right about generic male reply, there was a missing condition.

Anyone in the Hagraven faction can potentially enable it during an attack.

What is a debuff?

I'm having the same issue.  I'll literally stand in front of witches and let them hit me repeatedly, but I haven't managed to trigger the curse yet.

 

Are there any potential conflicts with other mods I should be aware of?

 

Edit 1: Actually hold on, I wasn't following the instructions.  My PC is married to Lydia and I didn't enter the console command you included in the description.  I'll try this.

With debug menu it should activate. Try again. Also try save and load before talking to Farengar.

Thanks for the help.  I've tried again but found the same results.  Here are the steps I took:

• Entered set debugcuckold to 1 into the console
• Spoke to Lydia, selected Debug Menu Cuckold, then Mark this NPC as wife (I'd already married her the vanilla way).
• Spoke to Lydia again, selected Activate Curse.
• Save New Game, exit to main menu, load from new saved game.

On reload, neither Lydia nor Farengar have any additional dialogue options and there weren't any status notifications like depicted in your video.

I dont know what tf is going on. Try this console as well after debugcuckold to 1
