my setup - landscape flora grass

Hello,

 

It took me a long time to come with a good mod combination for landscape, flora and grass in FO4 so i would like to share it if someone is interested.

It is tuned for my personal taste, with dense forest and green grass out of the barren dry usual Fallout4  visuals, Some people might like it 

Listed in load order by category

 

Landscape :

Fallout 4 HD Overhaul 2k  you can use the 4k version of the mod if you like

Perfect landscape by Pfuscher

Rocks Moss 4k

Trash and Rubble Pile Replacer  options : Just gravel - no decals

HighTech Debris Rubble Retexture 2K 4K

WAVE - Wave Animation Vanilla Enhanced 

Better Coastal Waves - Wilder Water
About water texture mods :  there are many available and it's all up to personnal choice. At the moment i'm testing X.O.R.P - Water

 

Trees :

A Forest  with the hotfix

Another Pine Forest Mod Trees Only version

Note about trees : sometimes the trees might conflict with additional buildings coming from mods, you can use the console to disable the tree

 

Grass :

GRASSLANDS - A Fallout 4 Grass Overhaul must load after trees mods

 

Flora :

NXGEN - Nice Bush 

Delightful Ivy - HD Vine Retexture

Lily Pads and pond scum remover

Luxor's Summer last loading. << Alternatively you can skip Luxor's Summer and just download "Flower Shrub" from the optionnal files. Try both and see what you prefer

The following questions is not me arguing but simply trying to get educated: 😌

 

I already have Luxors HD overhaul does he not cover a lot of those items already?

I always thought it would not make sense to me to  DL addtional textures now.

 

As for the trees I run either A forest or Another Pine Tree forest. But running them together does this not cause overlapping?

 

About the grass doesnt Luxor already have a grass improvement?

Same about the bushes does not Luxor upgrade those too?

Luxor is very talented and his mods are always a good choice. Fallout 4 HD Overhaul 2k by Luxor is the base of my setup. It includes a lot of things, buildings, items and more. The folllowing mods in load order are meant to improve some specific parts like waves, rubble or a few terrain textures. You can combine them , the game just overwrites the previous with the later

 

About the trees, yes there is some overlapping. I use A Forest with Another Pine Forest mod and combining both together is for me the best way of having a dense and diverse forest environment. The trees have collision so combat experience is more tense, ennemies hide and you can take cover. If you use a spawn enemies mod like the excellent SKK Combat Stalkers you have a dense opresive environment to fight.

You can try A Forest alone then make an addition of Another Pine (trees only version) to see the difference.

 

Same with Grassland, if you prefer luxor's grass you can keep it. All those mods are mostly textures so you can install or remove them without breaking your save. If you try Grassland don't forget to load it after the trees mods.

 

NXGEN - Nice Bush  is just the best bush replacer 

 

I'm running a 490 esp/esm/esl L.O with a i7-12700 32Go RTX 4060 pc and my fps is usually 80-120 (capped to 120 by my .ini) except in Boston where it drops to 50-85, that zone being badly optimised. I don't use PRP by choice.

 

My post was just to give some hints to good texture mods, not a must have by any means 🙂
