Lewd Xenos - Portrait Update (Machine Age Compatibility)

This is a reupload and update of the original Stellaris: Lewd Xenos mod created by Dadicho.

All credit for the creation of this mod goes to Dadicho. This reupload focuses on ensuring compatibility with the latest Stellaris updates. The original mod stopped working due to changes introduced by the "The Machine Age" update, and this version resolves those issues to make the portraits functional again.

Updates in This Version:

  • Fixes for compatibility with "The Machine Age" update.
  • Adjustments to the portrait system to align with the latest Stellaris changes.

Installation Instructions:

  1. Download and extract the mod archive.
  2. Move the contents (folders and .mod file) into the following directory:
    Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\mod
  3. Enable the mod in the Stellaris launcher.

I can't wrap my head around how to install this I've tried everything I could think of on the original post, doesn't work and I follow your way still doesn't work it just gives the default species not even a new category.

To install the mod correctly, please follow these steps:

  1. Copy the Mod Files:

    • Move both the dadicholewdxenos folder and the corresponding .mod file directly into the Stellaris mod folder.
The path should look something like this:
      Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/mod/
    • It’s crucial that these files are not nested in any additional folders—they need to be directly inside the mod folder. Check the attached image to ensure the structure matches.
  2. Add the Mod to Your Playset:

    • Open the Stellaris launcher.
    • Go to the Playsets tab on the left side.
    • Add the mod to your playset from there. If you don’t have a playset yet, create one using the option below the “Play” button (see the second image for reference).
    • Once the playset is created, ensure the mod is added to it.
  3. Check in the Game:

    • After following these steps, launch the game. When creating a species, you should see two phenotype options: Lewd and LewdMachine. If these options appear, the mod is working correctly.

Let me know if you need further clarification!

Very weird issues with this one. It works with 4.0 just like the updated SSX but for whatever reason works only until you enter the game. You can make a species, see all the portraits and everything but once you load into the game every portrait becomes just a carbon copy of your leader.

No idea why. All the files seem to be in order.

There is a conflict with Mango's lewd Diplomacy, specificly the Escaped Gene Sex Slaves origin where the lines "portrait = prev.ruler" and "gender = prev.ruler" in mod\Mango's Lewd Diplomacy (1.3)\events cause the portraits to be the same. delete those lines and it should work
