kkiiees Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 I want to ask, If SPID can distribute normal maps to different NPCs with conditions like Racial Skin Variance - SPID, then can it also distribute different texture to NPCs ? like for example, clean and smooth texture for bards, innkeepers, etc; hairy and dirty texture for bandits, soldiers, etc.
traison Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Replacing normal maps would be no different than replacing the diffuse texture. I suppose its more a question of how you do it. I can only think of 2 ways, and both are bad: Change the race, and give each race their own armors with their own textures. Use RM to apply a texture override. The first one is bad because of the infinite amount of work and conflicts it will cause, and the second is bad because I find RM overrides to be unreliable at best. If I were to develop something like this, I'd look at what Racial Skin Variance is doing; and I'd also look at the new mods that claim to give the player a unique body like Obody I think. Perhaps there's a new and more reliable way of doing things.
kkiiees Posted December 26, 2024 Author Posted December 26, 2024 After a little bit of research I found this mod: SynthEBD. It change the skin texture using a standalone app rather that SPID and it kinda complicate to set up 1
