Help with fully restoring Sims 3 after improperly deleting and uninstalling Kinky World

Hey everyone,

I downloaded Kinky World in 2022 but didn't like it and I soon deleted it and uninstalled it as it created too much lag in my game. I failed to read the uninstall instructions as I assumed it was like any other mod that can be deleted at will and that is why I am here today. Now my game still has the lag and crashes often and it is borderline unplayable.

What do I have to do to restore my Sims 3 copy to its original state before Kinky World? Is that even possible? And if so, I did a little research that my saved games would be unsalvageable but would I still be able to save my saved sims, saved households, saved lots, saved patterns, and other mods?

Thank you to anyone who can help me with this issue, I'd really appreciate it.

If you have started a different save game than you had in 2022 when you had KW installed, then KW isn't your issue.

KW injects stuff into the files created when you "Save" while playing the game. It does not modify anything in the game binary files that live where the game is installed.

If you are still using the same save from 2022, that is impressive, and it is possible that your issues may be related to incorrectly removing KW.

It is theoretically possible to cleanly remove KW and keep your save. In order to do so, add the KW mod back and start the game. You might need at least KW build 409, which you can find here: https://www.loverslab.com/topic/156041-sims3wip-kinkyworld-build-409-public-link-and-other-helpful-information/

That thread also has info about how to safely remove Kinky World.
