Megume Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 Hi, while playing i reaslied that even with both NPC Fertile, their chances to impregnate seems to only be 3% to 15%; unlike the ones involving a payer at 150% or even 300%. Does the Fertile / Virile perks also affect NPC/NPC interactions? Thanks you very much in advance!

I have family planning enhanced and it works well like that and on occasaion my female NPCs get pregnant from male NPCs if I run something like autonomy. This even goes for non human interactions, Piper once got pregnant from a Supermutant. 2

Oh, i did know about the chances slider, but i was curious if NPCs chances to impregnate other NPCs was affected by the Fertile Perk, since even with both NPCs being Fertile (30% chances), their chances would bounce between 3% to 15%. TLDR: Are NPCs to NPCs chances also affected by Fertile, normally?

TLDR: Are NPCs to NPCs chances also affected by Fertile, normally? yes the fertile perk effects, affects chanes for NPCs as well. But I been running this mod a LOT. So if say, the "base chance" for a female NPC to get pregnant is set at 30%. That appers to mean from any sex. not countirng if she has fertile effects or not. Then thats it. Its 30% regardless of the chance set for the NPC she interacts with. It almost seems to me as if it defaults to whichever is the higher chances between the 2 actors rather than doing math between both chances . So i my experiences, if you have "base percent chance of 10%" and there are 2 NPCs, engaging each other, its not 10% of 10% = 1% chance, but it is 10%. Same when you do player percantages. If player percent chance is 30% and most NPCs are at much lower default numbers then your chance is 30%. I got this above opinion from running this for a long time, I did not and do not have the ability to, look up values in FOedit or the like. Edited December 22, 2024 by katrina.balanchuk 1

Uh, Something weird seems to be happening in my game then; i remember seeing a "150%" or even a "300%" chance for impregnation when both Player and NPC are Fertile. If that's the case, then i should start looking what is causing this on my side of things. In the meantime, i will try and chance one the gender sliders to try and get an effect somewhat closer to the Player/NPC chances. Thank you very much! (I also just remembered that there is more than one version of the mod, so better late than never: I'm also using the "Redux" version of the mod )

Megume Posted December 22, 2024 Author Posted December 22, 2024 I just found out something weird going on: If one of the NPCs is Fertile, it gives a 15% chance of sucess; but if BOTH NPCs have Fertie, it goes down to 3%. Feel like one of the things that handle the combined chances doesn't(?) exatly work as intended lol.

Megume Posted December 22, 2024 Author Posted December 22, 2024 Yeah, from what it seems and what i found way doing a quick reading over the mods file in FO4edit, the scripts for Player pregnancy and NPC pregnancy are two different files, so i'm going to try and see if i can anything weird or different in there. (Also, you got my curiosity picked nw: what weird behaviour did you get on your side?)

When I play as a guy even with chances set to low I seem to get girls pregnant over 50% of the time. When I play as Nora sometimes it takes longer than the chnaces would suggest. 1
Megume Posted December 23, 2024 Author Posted December 23, 2024 Uh, that is definitively weird lol. Also, i got an idea as of now: When looking thought the options for Redux in the MCM, it had a note in one the pages about AAF mods, implying(?) that some AAF mods could potentialy mess up the chances? Do you use others AAF mods (except AAF itself and Familly Planning) in you game?
