Guest Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 As the title says, first time using the programme ever and first time posing 3D models. I've mainly created this topic to document my own progress, maybe someday I'll come up with something I'm comfortable enough uploading, but of course, feel free to leave any tips (I already read the tutorial here and on WW), any help would be much appreciated at this point. I don't think that I will make animations anytime soon, but making poses is a good way to start. Here's my first ever pose to start the topic off: In-game shots in spoiler below. I had to make her boobs smaller in game so that the pose wouldn't clip, I guess it's something I'll have to take into account in the future. The nipple still sort of clips through her hand, but it's right in between the fingers so it kind of looks like she's squeezing it (a.k.a. it's a feature and totally not an issue with my first pose ever lol). The ankles are kind of wonky, that's partially my fault, partially just TS4 being TS4. And I have to figure out how to make the stomach flat, currently it's unnaturally warped. And the fingers are a bit weirdly twisted, I didn't notice it in blender, must've accidentally grabbed the wrong rotator. Spoiler There's a long way ahead of me, I know, but to be fair, it doesn't seem all that difficult to learn, definitely hard to master though.
UncensoredPlumbob Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Having a WIP thread can be motivating, good luck and you made a great start! For less warped stomachs (we can't fully avoid them) rotate the pelvis and the spine joints together to create one fluent movement. I think there are many pose tutorials which can help too. Google "Sims 4 how to pose" and lots of stuff shows.

Guest Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 (edited) Started working on a posepack for a story I have in mind for one of my sims. It's gonna be a bit of a challenge, as it will include 2 sims, but here's the first pose for the first sim, who is laying unconscious on the ground: And a zoom in on the face to show the expression: Will post updates as I get more stuff done. //So, that's pretty much the first part of the pose done, here's the second female, standing in shock: And her facial expression, even though it's hidden by the hand when viewing the pose from the front: //Edit 2: Screenshots in game, using my currently played sim as a model: Sim 1: Spoiler Sim 2: Spoiler Edited December 9, 2024 by NixxieDRS
Guest Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 Another 2 parts of the posepack done, this one required 2 sims to show off properly so I just teleported a random sim to use as a model. Part 2: The only difference is with the standing sim, the position of the sim laying on the ground is the same. The idea is that the standing sim walks up to the sim laying on the ground and crouches. In-game screenshots only, couldn't be bothered screenshotting it in Blender: Spoiler I made the sim's hands extended, because for part 3 the sim is supposed to grab the unconscious one by the legs, like so: Spoiler The hands position is a bit janky, but sort of works- hands are the most difficult bodypart to pose for me so far, but I did my best! Of course, the hands are floating a little around the sim's legs, can always be adjusted using WW's positioning system (roll, pitch, yaw, and just moving the sim around in general- I wanted it to be this way as to allow for using different clothes/bodyweights/sim fatness. The next part will be the sim1 dragging sim2 on the ground, I'll have to figure out how to make it look believable. I'll also need to figure out how to convert object meshes into blender as props for properly positioning sims using them as I already have the next part of this pack in mind. To say the least and not brag at all (okay, maybe to brag a little bit), I'm really proud of my work so far considering I have never used Blender before.
Guest Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 First ever posepack is up here!: I'll also post a blog story related to this posepack (or, the reason I created it rather) in the upcoming days!
