A request to the professionals who know about save games

When you save, a snapshot of the game is always created. It looks like this:

 

 

Since I'm playing in survival mode, I only save for the smokeable cigarettes mod. And there the message "save created" appears as normal and the snapshot is also created. So completely normal. But sometimes a snapshot isn't created. It looks like this:

 

 

Since I'm not very familiar with the game's mechanics, is this a sign that a broken save was created or can I safely ignore the snapshot function? Because the game loads from such a save. Unfortunately, you often only notice defective saves later.
