Skyrim Se 1.5.97 Catastrophic Issue, No esp or esm plugins being loaded

So I was playing the game, it crashed. It crashed like I've never seen before. Initially I thought the game froze, all sound stopped and it looked like an obvious freeze; however, when I tried to kill the task with task manager clicking end process did not kill it immediately which is unusual, usually during a freeze this will immediately kill the game. After about 20 seconds the game died and it logged me out of steam (I have no idea why). When I tried to re-open the game (I changed nothing literally just tried to re open the game that was playign and running fine with no issues before the crash) it crashed on the main menu. Checking the netscript framework, at the bottom I can see it is not loading ANY plugins including Skyrim.esm. I checked my mod manager and plugins.txt file and nothing has changed there. I tried opening creation kit and it doesn't even let me pick plugins to load.

 

Does anyone know what the hell happened and how I fix this? I've never seen anything like this in 4000+ hours of modding and playing this game.

I was able to figure out what happened. Somehow (absolutely no idea how this happened) the _Resourcepack.esl and _Resourcepack.bsa files were deleted after the crash. If you run into this issue check to see if that file is still in your data folder. I just remembered I've had something similar to this happen on 1.5.97 where after crashing the game deletes all of the creation club plugins and I have to re-add them. If anyone knows why this happens, please let me know if there's a way to prevent it.
