how do you convert hkx to xml in hkxcmd?

This is probably a really simple problem, but I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong here. What is the command to convert an hkx file into an xml file? The readme's directions are a little confusing, I've been typing in " hkxcmd.exe convert animationname.hkx " and I'm not getting an xml out of it. Am I typing in the wrong thing? Is there something else I'm missing? I know how to convert hkx-kf and vice versa, but I haven't done anything with xml conversions before.
