transferring sims

I can no longer transfer sims out of their household without playing and moving them by their telephone.

Apparently it is one of the several things that the 10/22 update broke. EA is investigating, but no fix that I have seen so far. It is a base game issue though.

Had the  same issue, solution is to use a homeless sim that you don't care about, it will be deleted, or create a new as a holder for the sims you want to move.

Make sure you do a new save before doing this if something goes wrong.

Move the homeless/created sim to a empty lot,

I assume it's s a split you want to do. Now from manage worlds, open manage households.

Transfer the sims and chosen sum of simelons to transfer.

Open edit in CAS and remove the temporary sim (delete by x in leftside portrait and click yes)

Now you can move the split part of family where ever yoy want.

 

Also you can use the cheat for free real esatates to move the homeless to the place where you want your family members to move to save  a step of the process (LCtrl-LShft-C then type in freerealestates on)

This must be done in the manage world screen) you will then ofcourse get the estate free for your sim's, if that's not what you want, you have to go with the empty lot step. 

 

Been doing this a lot since update (still sorting my huge family out 50+) to divide them int groups that CAS can handle (8 per household) usally have up to 16 members in each household but since CAS can't handle it I had to do this above steps to be able to move them around. Also in a big relocation of many familys.

Hope this help you and someone else running into this snnoying bug.

 

Bug is that you can't create a new household in the manage household screen to split a family.

Hopefully EA will find a solutionto this, but beeing EA it will proberbly take forever.

Just some rant below.

10/22 patch must been the worst in TS4 history. Also can't wait until the grim reaper event is over, my feeling is that a lot of small bugs will just go away when it's gone, do belive EA messed something up  with it, since you can't even turn it off for us who has no intrest in it, my main is already best friend with Grim and that was reseted with the last patch...
