Modded Skyrim, low-end laptop running Debian Linux tips

Howdy.
I sold my gaming rig a year ago and the closest thing I have to one is a "heavily" upgraded Thinkpad T440p with 16GB RAM, a i7-4702MQ CPU running (as you guess) integrated graphics (4600).
Got a bit of a Skyrim craving lately, but haven't really messed around with modding on Linux since it was quite frustrating even back at my old rig and never got around doing it on the laptop. Vanilla Skyrim (both LE and SE) should work run fine at 36-40fps tweaking settings according to YouTube footage, so I assume it's not even that of a stretch to include some nicer looking textures/models at lower resolutions and play some animations. Right?
I'm not tech savvy, but I can do my way using some documentation.
