xsixkillerx Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 I've been trying to add an overlay to a skin for a custom NPC, and the guide I was following had me simply drag drop and save the overlay after tweeking the colors and stuff, however after I do so and open it in nifscope, the skin becomes incredibly dark, which I'm sure won't match the head or look right ingame. Usually when I overwrite a texture through paint.net it saves it with the original compression, so I'm not sure what I am missing, or if I am applying it to the right file at all? The overlay I'm using is from https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/85760 and the skin texture is from https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/65274
traison Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 So did you open the edited dds again to compare it to original?

I did and still have no idea what is causing the color difference, the filesize and everything remained the same as well. ZOMFG I figured it out! Skins are supposed to be Linear and not RGB! >,< Edited August 25, 2024 by xsixkillerx Problem solved
