Mad Island Modding

I've yet to find a discord for modding Mad Island (since the official one has rules against discussing modding outside of workshop content). So I thought I would start a topic here to discuss what we're all planning, even at this early stage in the game's overall development.

Currently I'm working on a small mod with separate pregnancy system for handling the gameover scene with Spike (huge spider). Unfortunately my coding skills are still lacking and I'm only in planning and pseudo-coding stage. I will eventually also need an egg-filled-belly image to attach to Yona's body using unity spines. It's going to take a fair while and I reckon I will likely need help in time.

There are so many plans in my head for this game. I've already put a very small mod together that allows love potion use on several extra NPCs and allows pregnancy for Yona, Reika et al. Unfortunately it's janky, the belly won't show since there isn't an easily swappable asset for it and delivery is bugged due to the lack of usable animations existing in-game.

Naturally bepinex/harmony are my go-to for this. If anyone wants to collab with me on this then reach out, in time I might end up expanding the scope. I've attached my work-in-progress .cs files if anyone wants to take a look and/or offer advice or help.

I'm honestly surprise the modding for this game haven't exploded on LL yet. It has the same "do-w/e-you-want" foundation that Skyrim has.

Did one run a few months back, probably will try it again when it's out of beta and have more mods.

 

I'm a monkey when it comes to scripting so I can't be of any helps. As much as I want to see what you're working on to come into fruition, I think the developer will implement those features eventually.

 

If I were decent with unity, I would slap on a bunch more animations and that would already make the game a lot better tbh.

 

That said, I still would like to see these added sooner the better. Good luck on the project!

Thank you! I'm very much a script monkey myself too, still learning. While I have made simple mods for other unity games, this will be my biggest undertaking yet. I just need to plan the egg-preg process to work in a similar way to the base game, for compatibility, I have only a slight idea of where to begin.

I'll get there eventually, thankfully there is still a long time before the full release, so I have plenty of time to work and for my skills to evolve.
