GeekyGuy Posted August 17, 2024 Posted August 17, 2024 Hey, For some reason my game has started to get stuck in between play-pause mode. When this happens, my game still runs pretty good, I can click items and make Sims to do whatever I want, I can rewind game etc. But if I try to open menu to save the game, go into "Buy-mode", or into "Sim-Creation" mode, screen turns into black and basically I'm stuck in this situation the rest of my life. No window isn't working, nothing order won't go through, can't save game or go into neighbourhood. So my only result is to kill the game. Is some mod now interfering or is my save file corrupted? I noticed this problem occured almost immediately after I upgraded WickedWhims to "v181c"-version.
COOLSIMSPLAYER92 Posted August 17, 2024 Posted August 17, 2024 Hey yall my best creator guess is you must have a mod or animation pack conflicting with your game. So there's two options, first is to update any old mods you use. Second off is to remove all mods except WWs and add your mods back in slowly and run the game. If you rune the game after adding a certain mod back and its buggy that might be the one you need to update or remove. 😊

Is there happen to be a easier way to check, is any of my mod outdated? Than just downloading the same mods once again and installing them again to the mods folder?

Than just downloading the same mods once again and installing them again to the mods folder? Do you have UI cheats extension or Better Build/Buy? Do you have the 15 clubs per sim mod? Those are the mods that have caused similar issues for me. Updating them should fix things. It's good practice to update every mod when a new patch comes out. It's a pain, but you gotta do it if you're going to mess with mods. If you don't have the 3 mentioned, IMO, the best bet is to start by finding the mods you have that alter the UI. Like the 3 I mentioned already or ones like MCCC. Remove them from your mods folder and place them on your desktop or something. Run your game and see if the issue still occurs. If it does, then it's another mod. Remove all mods and run your game. If still happens, then your save is broken unfortunately. If it's fixed, then start moving mods one by one back into your mods folder. (Might be a good time to organize them into their own folders if you haven't done so already.) Each time you move a mod back into your folder, start the game up and see if the problem happens again. If it does, then the last mod you added is the issue. Either delete or update, your choice. If it doesn't happen, then exit and move the next mod back. Keep going until you find the problem. Edit: WARNING: DO NOT SAVE WHEN YOU EXIT WHILE TESTING THE MODS. Saving without mods in the game will cause your save to be stuck in that state. Which means anything you've done with the mods will be gone. Make sure when you exit while testing mods, you exit without saving. I'm only putting that warning in because I've done it. Edited August 19, 2024 by Faolon
