chuckdm Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 So...I recently managed to get SE functional again (something I've tried twice in the past year to no avail, AE update broke everything HARD.) I'm using TBD-SMP and other than some footwear from DD - the Iron Ballet Boots - playing nude. However, the problem I'm having existed before I installed DD 5.2 and the TBD bodyslide conversion for it, including when barefoot, so I don't think that's the problem. Here's the problem: None of my animations align properly. Specifically, when playing ANY oral animation, the dick is either trying to fuck the bridge of my character's nose, or just below her chin. It's anywhere even in the ballpark maybe one animation out of 50. I'm using Billy's and Anub's SLSL packs, and probably 90% of the time her other two holes line up properly. But the mouth is almost never right for some reason. This happens with both BJ animations and FMM/FMMM/etc animations. In fact, during FMM animations, the vagina will line up perfectly while the mouth is still wrong. I have checked with player.getav and my height is 1.0. Using latest XPMSE skeleton, which I have twice confirmed was not overwritten by TBD-SMP. Problem persists both with "clear HH height" enabled or disabled. I even thought perhaps it might just be Aroused bending the schlong at odd angles so I disabled that, no improvement. Any ideas why nothing lines up? I've got a fairly extreme preset but with a normal height that shouldn't matter, should it? Is this just an issue with TBD? Does TBD position the mouth differently than CBBE or UUNP? I can post a load order or papyrus log if needed but I don't think either should matter.
traison Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 (edited) As far as I can tell, human-human animations are aligned to SOS. If another male body has the dong somewhere else, that's your problem to deal with. SL has alignment hotkeys for this. 7 hours ago, chuckdm said: I have checked with player.getav and my height is 1.0. Does this include the race height? If it doesn't then that's most likely not your true height. The checkbox to event actor heights in SL will deal with this, make sure its checked. 7 hours ago, chuckdm said: Using latest XPMSE skeleton, which I have twice confirmed was not overwritten by TBD-SMP. Alright, but what about things like leg length, torso height, neck length, head size and whatever else there is in RaceMenu that will essentially affect where the actors head ends up being? The even actor height checkbox in SL is supposed to deal with all of these, but in my experience it doesn't. Then again, I run old code here; maybe the more recent versions do it better. 7 hours ago, chuckdm said: Problem persists both with "clear HH height" enabled or disabled. There's 2 different HH systems. One is from RaceMenu/NiOverride and the other I can't remember right now. SL may only deal with one of them. Do not wear HH while testing something like this, you're only adding unecessary variables. 7 hours ago, chuckdm said: Any ideas why nothing lines up? Perhaps you moved your character's mouth up/down/left/right in RaceMenu. Animations do not account for this. Mouth/face morph files and 3rd party heads such as (HPH) can obviously also move things around. 7 hours ago, chuckdm said: Does TBD position the mouth differently than CBBE or UUNP? Don't know about UUNP, but CBBE does not change the head. Nor does 3BA, in case that's what you meant with CBBE. Edited August 7, 2024 by traison
chuckdm Posted August 7, 2024 Author Posted August 7, 2024 I'm only using SOS for the male body. I've never used anything else or even considered it. It was "player.getscale" not getav, sorry. Just checked it again and it's 1.0. It says "1.00 (with base 0.95)" I'm not sure what the "base 0.95" is supposed to mean. All of my NPCs and myself are supposed to be 1.0. I'm not running any mod that assigns different heights by race or such. As to "even actors height" it was not checked. In fact it was greyed out. I unchecked "race specific adjustments" and the "CTD fix" one and enabled "even actors height" and...it's worse. Now all 3 holes are badly misaligned. Tried three animations, 2 MMF and a solo BJ. They're a foot away from where they should be. The dicks for the oral position are actually hitting mid-chest now, worse than the below-the-chin they were before. I guess the one good thing is they're consistently off by the same amount now, though I don't see how to fix that. I will test this further, maybe I had a compound problem and I've solved just one part of it. I confirmed that all limb lengths and torso lengths are default. The only thing that might cause some misalignment is lower back arch. I can change that if needed but that shouldn't change the vertical alignment of the mouth, I would think, and my character isn't too far forward, only too far up or down. Other than the back arch, the only sliders I've changed from default are boob and butt related, and butt height is also at default. I've tested both barefoot and with heels on, and with the HH option in Sexlab on and off in both cases. The mouth positioning is also default. But I also can't move the mouth all the way up between her eyes or below her chin so that wouldn't explain it even if it wasn't. Overall head height is default, but I did pull her chin up a bit for a more rounded face. Chin length is at -0.3 and shouldn't cause alignment to be this far off, if at all. Since TBD uses CBBE textures I assume it doesn't change the head either, but I'm not sure. I suppose I will try switching to CBBE if further tinkering with Sexlab's various options doesn't solve it. I really like TBD. I can never make "gumdrop" boobs look right with CBBE. Probably just a skill issue on my part, that.
chuckdm Posted August 7, 2024 Author Posted August 7, 2024 And...I figured it out. Slap da Butt SE has a feature to remove the HH effect, but it was greyed out and unchecked. Despite this, it was activating and, apparently, not communicating with Sexlab, which was then doubling the lowering amount and placing my character below the dicks.. The "race specific adjustments" was then adding a degree of randomness, causing the lesser but random misalignments I was having at first. Disabling race specific adjustments, enabling even actors height, AND removing my heels entirely solved it. Six animations in a row, no alignment issues. So...guess I'm either not wearing heels or dropping STB. I think probably the former. I like em but STB is too much fun, minor as it is.

That's the race scale (height). 6 hours ago, chuckdm said: I'm not running any mod that assigns different heights by race or such. Vanilla game races are of different scale (height). Some time back in LE and early SE I made a mod for myself to even all races to 1.0 to work around the CTD in SL while still having aligned animations. I removed this when I got tired of everyone being the same height and noticed the CTD was gone. Good thing you got it sorted 👍
