SticksStackStuck Posted July 29, 2024 Posted July 29, 2024 Given that the new pack have given us some features found in WW, I guess it is time to start sorting the WW likes and dislikes better. My suggestion is to separate between romantic and purely sexual/woohoo attraction. It should be possible to despise a sim socially/romantically, yet be attracted to the sim physically. Here's an example to show what I mean: Let's assume Nancy Landgraab want a spouse that is ambitious, wealthy and a perfectionist. At the same time she despises sims that are poor and lazy (all reasonable assumptions for Mrs. Landgraab's preferences). The game does not really separate between romantic and friendship preferences, which indicate the game assumes she is evaluation sims based on their marriage potential. When Nancy Landgraab married her school friend Geoffrey, she fulfilled her friendship/romantic desires, but what if her sexual preferences are something else? What if her marriage is strained, due to Geoffrey being a workaholic and a bit uptight? What if her gardener has just the combination of frame, eye- and hair colour and youth witch really sets her off? What is Professor Jabari from Britchester really dislike the obnoxiously goofball and bro student, yet find himself strangely attracted? As you can see, I really want to play the classic romance plots like Lady Chatterley's Lover, and add the possibility for a bit of spicy storytelling. I want the "You're disgusting, get out of my sight, but first let's woohoo"-type of scenarios. One thing is my old fashion romance as described above, but it will also ad the possibility for players to experience the dissonance between what you're looking for and what you actually want that many gay and trans people experience. I don't know if separating out sexual desire from romantic/friendship ones are even possible, but I do at least hope you will consider the possibility. 3
PeterMcPhallus Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 A couple of things I always wished were possible; Exactly what Triple-S is suggesting above, i.e. "I really dislike you (or don't care about you one way or another), but you're hot, so let's Woohoo, and then you hit the bricks. Ummm... what was your name again?" Sims Friendships are reciprocal by design. They should not be. Let's say Mary Simchick is completely in love with John Somesim (pink and/or green bars completely full), however John doesn't give a tinker's damn about Mary (no color in either bar) or he hates Mary's living guts (full red bar). Imagine running Wicked and SAC's Extreme Violence mod at the same time. Think of the possibilities! Mary: "You hate me? But John, I thought... We... We just Woohoo'd!" Cue full power groin kick, and John hits the ground crying and clutching his rocks. Mary: "No! John is mine! You can't have him!" Cue Mary stabbing John's actual girlfriend Sue Sanesim to death with a kitchen knife. Mary: "I don't care if you have a girlfriend! I'll share you! Just love me!" Cue Mary going full Peeping Tom on John and Sue, and/or trying to seduce Sue into some GG woohoo. Lovesick Stalkers, Axe-crazy Exes... Oh, I could have so much fun... I would need to find a good 'Drunk and Stupid' mod to go with this. 4

I don't know if it is possibly to do anything about that without a deep redo of the base code. Turbodriver is talented, but I think such deep changes are beyond even him. It would have been cool to have one-sided friendships. Even cooler, one sided love affairs would have been grand! Also, I love your suggested scenarios with the Extreme Violence mod!

I agree completely. As good as Turbodriver, Deaderpool, and all those folks are, there are some things that only Maxis can do, and I don't see Sims 5 anytime soon. I just don't ken as to why non-reciprocal relationships weren't implemented back in Sims 2 or 3. To me, it just seems so... obvious. 1 hour ago, SticksStackStuck said: Also, I love your suggested scenarios with the Extreme Violence mod! Right? Sex and Violence. Two great tastes that taste great together (that's a slogan from... something, but I just can't recall what). 2
