Devious Devices Not Coming Off With A Key

I need a bit of help, I cant seem to unlock the restraints that I have on with keys. I can take them off with the DD termination button, but not the FREE ME button for Deviously cursed loot. These restraints are generic ones.

You said these are generic devices, but it would still help to know which ones.  Just list one or two by full device name that you're having trouble with.

 

Can you be more specific about not being able to unlock the devices?  What are you doing to unlock the device, and what message appears?   Were you previously told that you're exhausted by attempting to unlock a device and must until later to try again to unlock it?  You might already know this, but just mentioning it, not all devices unlock with keys, some require multiple keys, and others have a timer that blocks unlocking for a while.

The devices were iron chasity devices and ebonite wrist and thigh cuffs. I was using the Chastity Key to unlock the iron one, and it said it worked, but it was still on anyway. It is on a timer, but I made sure to wait it out.

If you got a message that the device unlocked, then yeah, you should be able to just unequip it after that.  When you try to unequip the unlocked device, do you get the standard unlock/struggle/examine message?

Yes, it's like nothing happened. I just lose the key and the belt stays on.

What version of DD?

It's version LE 5.2, I believe it's the latest. I've also downloaded cursed loot 9.0

I've been away for a while, just now catching up.  I don't know why you'd have that problem.  I suggest asking on the DD LE 5.2 support topic.  I'm sorry that I couldn't help with this.

Have you looked at the mod list?

There are not only DD and DCL but also other mods based on DD devices such as "Trapped In Rubber" and "Captured Dreams" ... and he also installed "Toys" - another framework for "tying up" players!

If you're already trying out so many mods (especially DD mods) - you should set at least two options from the first page in the MCM of DD

1) When tied up, the MCM is locked by default - so deactivate this function

2) activate manipulated locks - which means that you can also remove DD equipment you have put on yourself

In general:

With mods like DCL, it is very fatal if you use cheats to get keys and try to get rid of the devices.

Using the blacksmith to open the locks can sometimes break their quests - I experienced this with "Damsel in distress" ... as if the shackles weren't already absolutely hardcore - you also have to follow the procedure to open them exactly.

Unfortunately, the additional opening system of one DD mod in other DD mods can, among other things, break their quests or have a negative effect on the locking system.

Because what the user describes there (only very inadequately) - I have experienced something similar.

Yes - use the atomic option!

Uninstall the game - delete the game directory ... reinstall and make sure to test each DD mod thoroughly INDIVIDUALLY and get to know its pitfalls!!
