wayra Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 is it possible to change combat mechanics so that you can dictate the precise directions of a strike with your mouse? If so what and where should I start looking?
Guest kimbale Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 That depends on the animations you use. I have some great stabby animations for my 2h sword-wielding character. Combined with the "better aiming" mod i can nicely stab people in 3rd person. Dunno about 1st person view though, i seldomly use it. Not that it has much effect though, there are no body zones... It's great for bypassing shields though.
Guest kimbale Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Ooh, is there something like this? I'll have to investigate...
Jarka Ruus Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Ooh, is there something like this? I'll have to investigate... Yep there is a locational damage mod (that is the mod name so it's pretty straightforrward). You could also try Duke Patrick's archery and heavy weapons combat mod which also has locational damage though do keep in mind that it's a comprehensive mod that drastically changes the combat system. You could also try mods like BLEED or Crimson tide which show blood around the places you hit for enhanced visual effect.

Glad I was of use, Duke Patricks' mod is easy to miss if you don't follow either the Bethesda forums or tesalliance. It's essentially a port from his Oblivion mod. Never got around to try it myself, as I use Locational Damage plus Duel - Combat Realism (cause it's so nice getting one shot all the time ).
