Making my own custom voice, but no sound

Recommended Posts

I am trying to make a new voice with clips from a video.

I downloaded the video, trimmed with Clipchamp, converted the mp4 clip (8-11secs) to WAV with vlc, and I now have a vlc audio file. But it does not play ingame when I select the voice.

Is there a setting of the vlc that I am missing, or program used to convert?

What export settings for wav did you use? It should be 16-bit 44.1khz.

For voices it should also be exported with mono channel. Otherwise the voice will be heard just as good if the speaking target is standing left or right. It will still be heard ingame though.

Btw: I think you should rather use the sound editor named Audacity. It's free and quite "okay" for handling and exporting audio files.

And, convert your working wav to xwm files to save your drive space. I do that will all my music and voiceclips. There isn't any noticable quality drop when ingame.

Got it thank you. I will try again with those settings and Audacity.

I don't know what export settings it was set to. There was no settings when I converted from MP4 to MP4 clips to WAV. The voices play fine when using music player or VLC, but just no sounds when ingame.
