Not able to navigate through Left stick ingame menu

In main menu and race menu left stick work

But in game when i open journal or tween menu my character still walks with left stick but LT or RT to switch tabs work , some how game isn't passing control of left joystick to menu from gameplay, I'm frustrated any help would be appreciated.

Everything was working in morning 

I was fiddling with controlmap file 

And then i updated skyui that when the proble started

Gonna point out the obvious then:

unfiddle the controlmap file and revert the skyui update.

Yeah, I've deleted the controlmap file and I don't remember which version my skyui was, i downloaded it 2 or 3 years back never updated it, today i felt like i had everything in my modlist and started to play, guess the game wants me to keep modding it,

I'm gonna try to reinstall all ui mods again maybe I'll find what's wrong

Thank you for trying to help i think I've found what's wrong i have Skyrim souls installed and somehow it's ini got messed up when i updated skyui

Well not sure if I helped or not, I was trying to make a point really. That is that UI mods may not always consider controllers. This is something you'd have to specifically check for before downloading. Also the OS thing was just in case you were on Linux. I hear controllers (especially the xbox ones) work better on Linux these days than they do on Windows, which is kinda hilarious if you think about it, but still.

 

I suppose that wasn't really the case here though.

Surprisingly, gaming on Linux is on-par with Windows* and in some cases you even gain performance. Your biggest issues will most likely be getting the subsystems set up correctly, like setting up Proton outside of Steam for those non-Steam games. With a little fiddling** Skyrim for instance runs as-is copied from Windows, ENB, MO2 and all, no problems. If your games are predominantly on Steam you'll have even less issues all thanks to the effort put into Proton. Also slightly surprisingly perhaps, you may have an even easier time with an AMD graphics card when on Linux, thanks to their driver support.

 

Basically I'm all set for a switch to Linux. I'm just waiting for Microsoft to do something stupid. I mean they do stupid stuff all the time but I talking about something that is unforgivable. Seeing as I'm in Europe, our laws protect us from some of their greed but lets face it, it's really just a matter of time before it happens.

 

*  I have absolutely no interest in the current (new) games. Whether the latest installment of Battlecasinofield works on Linux or not is totally irrelevant to me. When I said "is on-par with Windows" I mean I picked out the most unlikely candidates from my library for the test and they all passed. Fully modded Skyrim being one of them, Borderlands 2 another.

 

**  This is coming from someone that has worked with computers for 30 years. The definition of "a little fiddling" is subjective.

Well, I've had it. Next time I had a few days off with time I'm switching to Linux Mint. I use GOG 1179 offline installer version anyways.

Put it on a USB stick and boot from it, then you can test it before installing it. May also want to get another SSD to put it on, otherwise you have no way back should something go wrong. Depending on who you ask, Linux Mint may not be the best option for gaming. There's distributions specifically made for gaming. I hear Arch and the ones based on Arch are good, however you'd really have to know what you're doing going with that option. Personally I'm running Mint as well.

Mostly because I'm familiar with it, used to use Gloria and Helena distribs.
