ghostmist17 Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 Hihi! Okay well I am just like beyond beyond on this one - at a total loss. The problem is simple enough: Head does not match body color. I brought this problem here because I'm using the Breezes inside SexoutNG - but also because collectively you people like just know everything about fallout modding. I thought this had everything to do with Archive Invalidation - since that's like what usually causes this sort of thing right? And like every topic on the web, nexus, and LL points to that as the solution. Total basic stuff right? So I have totally AI'd my game like four different ways. So of course, because I'm a dedicated LL Troll, I am using FOMM to install everything. I never manually install, unless the mod is just an esp, or only adds data - never replace data. So I used FOMM to AI - that didn't help. So then I downloaded and installed Nexus MM, to use its AI. That didn't do anything either. So then I found this neat tool called Fallout New Vegas ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated but it didn't do nothin' neither. And so finally I went back to the old AI tool I remember from the last time I had problem of this nature a hundred years ago, the ol' manual ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated and it didn't help. Very sad. Now everytime I used one of these tools I also made sure I didn't have any of the left over data in my ini's from the tool I used before, so no stacking up Fallout-AI!'s or anything. Make sense? With me so far? Oh, I would like to add that clearly the Archive Invalidation is doing something - because everything else is working, and when I tried to load the game with the AI disabled (disabled by using FOMM) it was very angry and bitchy and looked even funkier when I loaded it. So then I thought - huh, maybe I should just install breezes independently because there's something wrong with SexoutNG or something ( perish the thought, a thousand apologies). So that did't make a difference. So then I thought, screw this, I'll download Roberts maybe it will work where Breezes wouldn't. So I did that. Didn't help, just different kinds of wrong color bodies now. So back to Breezes, I uninstalled Roberts. Now there's a FOOK patch for Breezes which I downloaded, but I don't think that's doing anything, and it does't matter if I turn it off or on. Now my last attempted fix is based on the theory I may be running TOO MANY MODS (decisions, decisions!). It has been my experience I can smoothly run 131 mods, if they're light weight mods, I can push it up to 140, but not normally. I (very carefully) deactivated like 20 mods, just to bring the mod count down to something I know my system can handle without any problem, and started a new game (not that I got far in the old one, I was just outside Doc Mitchell's when I started noticing the issue in the first game). Guess what? I still have the *&^%$#@ problem!!!! You people are all so helpful, and I really didn't want to bother you with this - but I really am not sure what to do to fix it, short of deleting everything starting from scratch. (Although, I have found that when I do that, if I just install the samethinz, the samewayz I getz the same problemz)! I was just thinking about some other details you may want to know. I attached a screenshot to this post so you could see what I'm talking about. Also, this problem is only with male NPC's (all of them). Sooo, any ...suggestions? ChianasGeek Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 Hi, have you checked for: bLoadFaceGenHeadEGTFiles=1 in the various .ini files? That's the main culprit for this, unless the affected NPC comes from an .esp instead of an .esm, as I understand it. (In which case, you're out of luck.) Hope this helps till a real expert sees your post
ghostmist17 Posted November 23, 2013 Author Posted November 23, 2013 @ChianasGeek Hi! Thanks for checking in - yes, I have ensured the value is set to 1 in all three ini files I'm aware of - the two in the Games/New Vegas, and the default in the Steam folder. That was good thinking though! I should have mentioned that in my OP.
ghostmist17 Posted November 24, 2013 Author Posted November 24, 2013 Well thanks again ChianasGeek - Just as a heads up to anyone interested; I reinstalled FONV (again) - I have a very organized way of installing mods, but in the installation I did today I found a few things I may have messed up in my initial installation. For instance I noticed I had activated NVR at the beginning of the game (not actually supposed to activate that until you reach New Vegas and go into the L38. Also in my first installation I had tried NVEC before I realized it wasn't compatible with Imps More Complex Needs. I thought I had adequately removed NVEC, but maybe not? I don't know --- either way my last install works wonderfully. Heads match bodies. With the exception of NPC's added by rePOPULATED Wasteland. But its not a big deal. If anyone does see something wrong by looking at my OP than please let me know, as I still don't rightly understand what I did to make it better. But that's purely academic really, since I no longer am experiencing a problem. The working solution I discovered: REINSTALL. Hope everyone has a great week! -gm17
