The Sims 4 Not Launching

As of today, the ninth, The Sims 4 has stopped launching. I start the game, it begins as a background task, and then it ends and I wind up back at the EA app. I've tried verifying the files on Steam, WW is up to date, and of course, I've restarted my PC a couple of times. Has anyone else had this issue? There's a post about this on the EA forums, but no one has produced a good workaround yet.

Had this issue recently too, I fixed by re-downloading the installer app, starting it up, and hitting the "repair" option. Turns out it was an issue with EA's launcher.

I went to bed and thought about it, and then I realized that I'd installed PhoebeJay's post mod but hadn't tested it out in-game. That was my problem--an outdated mod! Shame, I really wanted my sim to send her brother some robot parts, maybe a little purple haze...
