Glacial Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Im new into modding skyrim, and I cant figure out what Im doing wrong. So, Im installing this basic SexLab stuff that guide from this forum tells me to (FNIS, SKSE etc.), but after that when I try install any mod (I try few random so far, like Hentai creature, SexAddicts, Defeat or sexlab necro etc.) it just is not working. FNIS gives me info that all mods, and animations were included successfully, but I dont have any fancy new spells or features I should have. I think the problem is SkyUI. Every mod need this but I cant install it properly. After I download and unpack SKYUI archive into data folder (Im doing everything manualy) I start skyrim launcher and then I cant select data file and check 'SkyUI.esp', becouse the "select data files" button is not activated and I just cant clik it. Can you guys give me any tips how to solve this? Maybe I should try do all this stuff with some manager, can you tell me with one is best?
hryh23k9823u Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 You'll never run skyrim form the skyrim launcher or the tesv.exe itself, you have to run the game from the skse-loader.exe itself in order to run the skse plugins (SkyUi included). If you installed SKSE propertly, skse-loader will be inside your skyrim main folder, but if you run the game from mod organizer, nexus mod manager, etc, they should have an option to directly launch skyrim from skse isntead of the skyrim default launcher... if you dont, although i directly recommend you to use a mod manager, you'll need to activate the mods from the "select data file" option in the default lancher. If its greyed and you cant click it, simply add this line to your skyrim.ini [Launcher]bEnableFileSelection=1
Glacial Posted November 18, 2013 Author Posted November 18, 2013 Ok, so I reinstall Skyrim one more time, and this time I use nexus mode manager, and install all the basic again and I still dont have SkyUI. Doesnt matter if I lauch game from SKSE or from NMM (I even see SkyUI.esp is activated in NMM). I add the [Launcher]bEnableFileSelection=1 to the Skyrim_default.ini (I dont have skyrim.ini file at all) and it didnt help either. When I lauch game from NMM the "data files" button is still disabled.
