Racemenu Overlay Blue/Purple Texture Bug

Recommended Posts

Posted

I am having an issue where any overlays I have edited later in my playthrough turn blue/purple randomly. The texture usually randomly changes after a longer play session or when I reload a save. This issue only happens after I altered my equipped overlays in-game through showracemenu for the player and the EFF mod for followers. I don't think this an issue of missing textures as when I check the overlay tab in racemenu, all my modified overlays were automatically changed textures to "default", the blue/purple textures disappear temporarily if I manually modify them again. Changing back to "default" manually also does not result in this texture issue, it only happens after the two ways I described before. I am not sure how to fix this issue as it is becoming tedious to constantly reset the overlays in game.

Might be a good idea to post a screenshot of that blue texture.

If everything here is true and you're not missing something, then this issue sounds like a bug. RM in general seems to have issues with things like remembering skin overrides and restoring the default textures when overrides are removed - maybe this is not the most developed/stable aspect of RM.

Edit: Probably should clarify skin overrides are not the same as tattoos. I have not seen these kinds of issues with tattoos. I believe your problem stems from a mod other than RM.

You could search through all pex files in all mods for AddNodeOverrideString, ApplyNodeOverrides, RemoveNodeOverride, and RemoveAllNodeOverrides. That would be your list of suspects. A tool such as Notepad++ can do this easily, i.e. you could search for "NodeOverride" to catch them all (and a few others).

After disabling my mods, I narrowed it down to Race-Based Textures being the cause of the issue, There was no script folder in this mod however so I am not sure how to fix it other than simply disabling the mod going forward.
