Of course I would reinstall the game on Steam. thx This is exactly what I've been doing. So I know it works for Sims 4 at least. I don't remember exactly how I got everything to work, but the first few steps are easy: 1.) you'll need the base game on steam, but don't install it. Installing it makes everything break and turns it into a headache. 2. ) uninstall sims 4 from origin. Even the expansions and stuff. Keep mods and all the stuff in your documents sims 4 folder. Exit Origin/EA App. 3.) Now you can install Steam version of Sims 4. But only the base game. Launch it to make sure it runs. Start a new game, make sure everything works, including mods. Now, this is the part I can't remember for certain. I'm pretty sure I got it to work by doing this: 4.) Close steam and launch Origin/EA App. Through this launcher, install all the DLC. Any packs, expansions, etc., that you might have. Install it all one by one. 5.) Once everything is installed, close Origin/EA App. Exit it and make sure it's all the way shut down. 6.) Open steam and launch the Sims 4 through steam. Check to make sure all your expansions are installed. Every time I buy a new pack or expansion I basically start at step 4 again. So I know for certain that works at least. I close steam, launch EA, buy the game through EA. Install pack. Close EA. Launch Steam. Launch Sims 4. I did this a couple days ago when the latest stuff packs were launched. I bought the Ebonix collab pack. Edited April 20, 2024 by Faolon 1
erotoman Posted April 20, 2024 Author Posted April 20, 2024 I'm more concerned with the official sharing of the Origin library on Steam ? so sims4 would run on both ? Including the dlc.

You cannot play steam games on Origin. You can see your EA games from Steam. If I open my EA Launcher, I can see icons for Mass Effect 1 and 2 with a "STEAM" label on top of them. But launching them from Origin/EA will just open Steam and launch the steam version.

So you're saying you should be able to run them on steam ? Even though I have them installed on Origin ? Edited April 21, 2024 by erotoman

You'll have to uninstall them and then reinstall. 1
