BaboDialogue 5.40 Stallion quest

I'm having troubles with Babo's 5.40 stallion quest, where after I check heartrate and eyes, nothing happens. I can leave and wait, but nothing happens afterwards except my reputation goes down and the quest resets. I was told that there would be an internal dialogue somewhere, but I have yet to find it. If I am missing something, please let me know! I've tried reset quest and save/loading, but it hasn't worked yet, unless I'm doing something wrong.

I think key here would be to inspect the mod in xEdit to make sure such a dialogue actually exists and what its conditions are for triggering. Also it might be worth it to have a peek at the Papyrus log, just in case its involved.

I found this section in SSEEdit, looks like this exists. Not entirely sure how it triggers. There appear to be no flags attached right now.

 

I'm not the best at interpreting what this means, but at least I know that the next step does exist. Any thoughts on what this could mean?

Those are quest stages, What you're looking for is dialogue branches and topics.

 

Upload the esp (and its dependencies) here and I'll have a look at it.

So whats the working dialogue looking like? Where exactly does it get stuck?

 

And what's the quest name? 08CCC1E7 <BaboEventAnimalCare>?

Yeah haha the mod's pretty large, LOL

 

That is the quest name, we're told to take care of a horse. The quest gets a bit finnicky, as you then have to interact with the horse and then check its eyes and/or heartrate (these two tasks can be done in either order)

 

Once that happens, supposedly (according to what I read) there should be a dialogue option appear afterwards. This is where I get stuck, as that dialogue never appears after. I believe the "Conclusion is..." quest in my screenshot could be related, but may be something else.

When the quest is stuck, open the console and type:

getstage BaboEventAnimalCare

 

Post the number you get here.

Just tested. Finished the two events for heartrate and eyes check.

 

getstage BaboEventAnimalCare gave me a number of 23.00

...still, gonna see if I can find how its intended to work. Kinda thinking right now that the logic is hiding in BaboEventAnimalCareWhiterunScript.pex.
